Icon Theme Park In Malaysia Is A-Okay!

by Rachael Grant

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, attended the launch of the Islamic Civilisation theme park at Pulau Wan Man on the evening of Feb 3rd, and gave it the golden seal of approval.

He was reported as saying “Islam Hadhari has universal values that should not alienate non-Muslims. It is not a new sect or a new religion, but principles which guide and benefit all Malaysians.

“The theme park also has a seminar hall that can be used as a venue to promote religious understanding and encourage tolerance in multi-faith Malaysia,”

He went on to say that although the park is made up of miniatures it reflects the beauty and the architecture of the Islamic era.

The theme park features 21 replica mosques including the Taj Mahal in India, the Al-Hambra in Spain, Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, the Kaylan Tower in Uzbekistan and the Kudus Minar in Indonesia.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin will officiate the crysal Mosque also located in the park.
