by Rohan Parker
A new book written by Rev. Gary Kowalski, Revolutionary Spirits: The Enlightened Faith of America’s Founding Fathers, shows a new side to the faith of the Founding Father’s.
The book raises all sorts of questions for the modern American about what kind of religious men the Founding Father’s really were.
Outlined in Kowalski’s book are incidents that some readers may find quite surprising, George Washington nearly being arrested for not attending Church services on a Sunday, only a short while after being elected as the first President, and Benjamin Franklin editing the words of Jesus in certain prayers, even though he was no member of the clergy.
The driving question behind Kowalski’s book is this; Would any of the Founding Father’s be elected today?
