Florida Citizens Call For Faith Based Curriculum

by Rohan Parker

According to a new survey done by the St Petersburg Times, only 22% of Florida parents want Evolution based curriculum, and a whopping 50% want only Intelligent Design or creationism theories to be taught in public schools.

The paper spoke to Betty Liniger of Lecanto who was a part of the survey because she is raising her 15 year old niece who attends public school. Ms Lecanto told the paper that she has a strong religious background and that she cannot put that aside. She also stated that public schools should only be teaching intelligent design and should totally put aside evolution curriculum.

Regardless of the the findings of the survey, Florida still intends to forge ahead with new science curriculum which includes evolution as the backbone of biology, and does not allow intelligent design theories to be taught in public schools.
