You might be reading it wrong, because of the direction of "is" in two of the connectors. For example, it should be read as "The Son is God," not "God is the Son." The "is" in the Trinity doctrine doesn't go both ways like it does in other contexts.
I see a way of understanding that diagram...
Now I'm thinking that "the Trinity" is whatever anyone wants it to be.
(later) Whatever anyone wants it to be, to be able to say that they believe in it, or to argue against it.
I agree that His authority comes from the Father, but I didn't think that He said that explicitly anywhere in the gospels. I was wrong. Just now I searched and found this:
John 5:26-27
After reading the article that I quoted above, now I would say that the Trinity is a divine revelation, but the Trinity doctrine is a human explanation.
Ilater) From some of your posts, it looks to me like maybe you thought that I was arguing against the claims of the Catholic church. Nothing I...
It looks to me like there’s some misunderstanding about something I said.
I'm reading this now:
The Best Guide for Understanding the Trinity
Maybe it will help me understand your question or what you're trying to say.
Thank you.
I can't think of anything to say that I haven't already said, that might answer your question. I'll just repeat here as much as I can remember. Sometimes people try to resolve what they see as contradictions in the scriptures by denying the authenticity of some parts of them, or...
The way it looks to me now is that He is a promised king of Israel, and people can enter His kingdom now, spiritually, but the time has not come yet for it to happen physically. I'm only talking here about the teachings of Jesus in the Bible gospels. The teachings of Paul might be a different...
A direct revelation from God? Does the church say that? I would say no to that.
Is what you're asking about a teaching of the church? If so, can you quote it for me in full context, or give me a link to where I can read about it? If not, it might take a lot of time and effort for both of us...
I'm still confused about what you're asking me. Can you start over and try again?
(later) You asked me:
"But is trinity a divine revelation, or just a human explanation?"
Does the church say that it's a divine revelation? If so, can you quote it for me in full context, or give me a link to...
He doesn't say. He can't be appealing to any higher authority than His own, because there isn't any higher authority than His.
I'm not thinking of the whole gospel as a parable. I'm thinking of the Bible gospels as collections of sayings and parables.
I’m honestly not sure what your question is. There is a doctrine called “Trinity doctrine.” That is not words from the scriptures, so I wouldn’t call it divine revelation. The parts of the scriptures that it’s affirming are divine revelation, but they are not the Trinity or the Trinity doctrine...

I mention it because in the gospel stories people ask Jesus about it sometimes, and He answers as if it means something to Him. Just now I searched in the Bible for “saved.” In the Old Testament, most often it’s being saved from death. Sometimes it’s being saved from captivity, oppression or...
