    Hi from Longfellow

Actually, I only came here to learn more about the views of someone I met in another forum. I did that a long time ago, and I should have left it at that. :D I'm sorry for the unfriendliness in my posts.

    Hi from Longfellow

"Evangelize" might not be the best word, because one of its meanings is trying to convert people to Christianity, and that isn't what I meant at all. I'll just say that I don't want to be associated with what is happening in that thread, so I won't be posting in it any more. In fact, there...

    Hi from Longfellow

As I said, I started a thread about my personal path, out of curiosity to see where the conversation might go and what I might learn from it. It’s being taken over by other people now for their evangelizing, and I don’t want to be associated with that, so I won’t be posting in that thread any more.

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

I've thought some more about possible reasons for thinking that there is no danger of Baha'is coming to power in any country and oppressing people. All I can think of is that if and when Baha'is come to power in some country, people's attitudes and behavior in all of society will have improved...

    Bahai ....... political ambitions?

Okay, I think I get it now. If I want to see what people are saying about the political ambitions of Baha'is, I need to look in the "Current suppression of Baha'is in Iran" thread. If I want to see what people are saying about oppression of Baha'is in Iran, I need to look in the "Bahai ...

    Bahai ....... political ambitions?

Good point. I don’t want to be part of that, or associated with it, so I’ll stop posting here about the political ambitions of Baha’is. Even the person who started the thread is mostly posting off topic. I was curious and interested in what he thinks their ambitions are, but in 7 pages I...

Current suppression of Baha'is in Iran

The political campaigning of Baha’is in the west against the government of Iran could actually be making things worse for the Baha’is there, helping the Iranian government to brand the Baha’i Faith as as an anti-Iranian political movement and not a true religion.

    Bahai ....... political ambitions?

This post is about the topic of this thread, what political ambitions Baha’is might have. In my earlier post, I was not suggesting that Baha’is in Iran should be speaking up about oppression against other people in Iran. My point was that Baha’is in other parts of the world have been publicly...

There isn’t any unique Baha’i angle.

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

It’s hard for me to describe my path because I don’t have any organized, systematic way of following it, and most of the time I’m not even following it at all, either busy with the necessities of life or just entertaining myself. Currently, in my mind I’m putting it all under three headings: -...

    Bahai ....... political ambitions?

Maybe you forgot which thread you were in when you posted that? This is the “Bahai ....... political ambitions?” thread.

    Bahai ....... political ambitions?

I really did not want my name to be associated with this thread, but my resistance to temptation has limits. I’m thinking that the popularity among Baha’i’s of publicly denouncing the oppression of Baha’is in Iran, at the same time that they are using the “no politics” rule to be silent about...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

My spiritual teacher is not living now. All I have is his writings and the interpretations of two others that I’m trusting for that. I can search for answers to questions if I can find the right search words. Often I can remember words that I’ve read. For example, just now my idea for reviewing...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

I’m thinking now of making it part of my daily routine to consider how well I’ve done in some areas that Ive chosen for improvement, and how I might do better tomorrow. I might try using a mind map system that my son has been using for himself and with his children. Maybe starting tomorrow, or...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

One problem is trying to understand what it means, well enough to have some ideas about how to practice it. Another is finding ways to practice, that will actually change my attitudes and behavior. Another is just doing it. That's actually the biggest problem for me. Even when I have ideas about...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

I've seen some discussions about the political ambitions of Baha'is, and the Baha'i Faith possibly aiming for a worldwide Baha'i theocracy, so I decided to post some random thoughts here from my own personal views about that. First, in my understanding, part of what the Baha'i Community is...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

Considering how slow my progress is in improving my attitudes and behavior, I started thinking that I could do the world more good by learning to help train children in ways that will help improve the world for future generations. Our children are grown up, but one of them has asked us to give...

My path: following a spiritual teacher within a worldwide community of practice

One of my ways of practicing is to choose a virtue, like I did in the story above, and try to find ways of moving myself more in that direction. I haven't really learned to change my attitudes and behavior as much as I would like to, but I have seen some small progress over many years in the...
