Which certainly might be true. But what would be the point of being there? :)

    How does it hang together?

Not true, at least for Wicca. There is a movement within Wicca that basically says that unless you are a Gardenarian or Alexandrian Wiccan, and unless you hold to the tenets that Garnder set forth, you're not Wiccan. And as Gardner basically created the religion, I have no problem with that...

    just pondering

I agree. Many think of Heaven as good and Hell as bad. The question that pops into my mind with this definition is: Does that mean (in their view) that there is no free will in "Heaven?" Can individuals in Heaven ever choose something that, on a scale of choices, falls lower on the scale...

    5 books

Can it be a tropical island instead of a desert island? :D 1 - The best survival manual on the market. 2 - A book on creative writing. 3 - A 10,000 page note book. :p 4 - A book on creating paints from plants and minerals. 5 - A 10,000 page art / paint pad.

Does Somebody Have To Be Wrong?

I think the one thing that keeps me a monotheist (panentheist) is Occam's razor. It's simpler. ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam's_Razor I imagine that it's possible that there are dozens (or more) "gods" that had no first cause, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. I fully...

Does time exist? Can we travel it?

Wow. I am the first to vote "No" and "No." What's up with that? :p

Jesus Christ, what's the real story?

But that's what threw me. Why did you bring up Joshua (of Jericho) when Jeannot was speaking of Joshua (Jesus)? Did I miss something? :o

Jesus Christ, what's the real story?

 Did we read the same post? :) The Names Yeshua and Yehoshua by Dr. James Price, professor of Hebrew Yehoshua in the Septuagint Two things indicate that Yehoshua (Joshua) is the proper Hebrew name for Jesus: (1) In the Greek Translation of the OT known as the...

    Jesus the Taoist?

Ummm, no. :p The intent (imo) is to steer human thinking from subject/object duality into non-duality (theosis). The father and I are one. You are the branches and I am the vine. Etc ... etc... (Hey, I couldn't take a break forever.):D

    Jesus the Taoist?

Jesus's parables were certainly koan-like in nature. One author I've been reading says that his parables are meant to short circuit your brain, to upset your applecart, to push you out of ego/dual based/brain mode and into metanoia/non-dual based/heart mode. Whew!

    question for Christian Theology

Hi Earl. I just "discovered" Nicolas of Cusa through rereading Thomas Moore's The Soul's Religion. Since I read the book the first time, I've had some pretty amazing "Aha" moments regarding polarities, opposites, dualities and unities. So this time through, stuff that didn't make an impression...

    God's judgement?

Oh yeah, I know. It's what drew me to Catholicism in the first place. Thanks for your thoughts Thomas. They are greatly appreciated, as always. I'll leave my response at that so as not to derail the thread further. ;)

    God's judgement?

I certainly don't mean it to be annoying to non-Christians (which most might consider me anyway). I understand that there is a difference between modalism and social trinitarianism. However, I sometimes wonder if we (humans) over-emphasize the differences. I dunno. I find myself...

    God's judgement?

This is gonna be controversial, but ... perhaps that (what you said above) is 'the point?' What I mean is, perhaps Hinduism glimpsed the truth about the Godhead being triune, even though they conceive of it in modalistic terms. The trinity shows up everywhere. The yin/yang is triune. Paganism...

Yup. Me too. Although I do believe God is "personal," (meaning that I do not think God is impersonal). Heh. Makes sense.

    Tarot and mediumship

I have an Osho Zen deck. I agree that the artwork is amazing. Actually the best that I've seen. I used to use it a lot. The symbology made me think more than any other deck. Then I made the mistake (?) of looking "Osho" up on the web. I'll go back to the deck someday, but I'll do so...

    Tarot and mediumship

I do tarot readings for myself. I do not use them as a way to 'predict the future.' I use them as a meditation tool and as a way to tap the subconscious. There are very few decks that speak to me though. Tarot of the Cat People is one.
