While the Baha'i forum has been active of late I'm taking it that some are not pleased with the activity...

I would like you to be aware that activity is the difference between a clean fresh living pool and a stagnant pond.

But beyond that...as I couldn't get anyone for our interfaith service....

tis I that will be reading for the Baha'i....

the following is my reading....your comments will be considered.

THE BAHA’I FAITH

The Baha’i faith is the youngest of the world’s independent religions. Its founder, Bahaullah is regarded by Baha’i as the most recent in the line of messengers of God that stretches back beyond recorded time and that includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Christ and Muhammad.

The central theme of Bahaullah’s message is that humanity is one single race and the day has come for its unification into one global society. God, Bahaullah said, has set in motion historical forces which are breaking down traditional barriers of race, class, creed and nation that will in time give birth to a universal civilization. The principal challenge facing the peoples of the earth is to accept their oneness and to assist in the process of unification.

The basic teachings of the Baha’i faith include: the abandonment of all forms of prejudice including the full equality of woman and man; the recognition of the unity and relativity of religious truth; the elimination of extremes of poverty and wealth; the responsibility of each person to independently search for truth and the recognition that true religion is in harmony with reason and the pursuit of scientific knowledge.

Bahaullah referred to the human being as a “mine rich in gems of inestimable value.” These gems or qualities can be mined or developed only when a person turns to God. While this awesome task must remain the responsibility of the individual, humanity has received continual guidance from a loving Creator on how to accomplish it. The Baha’i conceptions of human nature and the soul, then are essentially positive as are their views on the purpose of life and life after death.

As I light this candle to honor those who walk the way of the Baha'i....

Please join me in a Baha’i prayer:

Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity.
Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech.
Be a lamp unto those who walk in darkness, and a home to the stranger.
Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
Be a breath of life to the body of humankind,
A dew to the soil of the human heart,
And fruit upon the tree of humility.

I find it a fair outline of Bahai. Most ought to be able to accept and agree with your piece without qualms. It's largely all the organizational matters that the various denominations disagree over. Nice focus on the universals. Well written!

I live in Michigan or I'd be happy to help out.
