Original Spin.
The concept of Original Spin has been classically attributed to Saint Augustine. Although from the very beginning, there were already quite a number of Spinners with their own versions of what that phrase meant. And it has not stopped spinning forever since.
So what exactly is Original Spin? It is the concept that because of [choose your favorite version here], humans are born spinners. Personally I think that it is because every single baby gave their mothers one hell of a time getting themselves born.
I mean, seriously. What could be more despicable than your very first act on this planet being the cause of pain and suffering to the loving person who brought you forth. Adding insult to injury, passing the buck right up front saying that it was her own fault because the All Mother really messed up a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away from George Lucas.
Talk about holding a grudge.
That, anyway, is the original spin of the Original Spin. But what if they have gotten it wrong lo these many thousands of years; millions of years if you go for this evolution stuff. Although admittedly, the latter is just a theory.
Fortunately for all and sundry I have come to explain the real story. It has a lot to do with the Kardashians, but mercifully, there is no reason to subject you to that aspect of the story.
And how, you may ask, is it that I know the real story when ten thousand people have become before me with the One True Original Spin? The question answers itself. All those other Original Spins lack one vital ingredient. It is not MY explanation!
Apart from the giving your mother pain and suffering during birth after all she did for you, which admittedly is a pretty durn good origin for Original Spin, there is this. We humans all come encoded in our DNA with the ability to Spin. It is part of our nature to Spin. It is proven by the fact that everyone goes on to spin throughout their lives.
Original Spin is built into the genes, and it is hereditary. Think about it. Can you think of even one individual who has not gone on to fall into Original Spin? Well, except for Neil Degrasse Tyson. And even he is really, really, really terrible at dates.
So there you have it. We are all born with Original Spin not because we have spinned at birth (again, except for the Mom thing), but because we are born programmed to spin.
Moral of the story? Original Spin is part of who you are. Embrace the reality. We are, have been, and always shall be, victims of Original Spin. Spin on my friends. And for Heaven’s sake, do try to be Original!
