I am an adherent of a virtually-unknown religion that has only between 5 and 10 adherents, and is based upon the divine revelations that were made to a human medium over a span of years, beginning in early 2012. The adherents belong to a group. The aforementioned human medium died a while ago due to medical problems, but not before giving stewardship of the group to her most promising student (who is not me). The religion falls into the general categories of occult/esoteric, magical, and polytheist. I won't give the name or description of the religion in this personal introductory post.

Welcome, I'll be interested in hearing more as you are.ready divulge.

From.the post I take it this is a secretive organization/religion?

Welcome, O_I! We're happy to have you here and look forward to your contributions.

Thankyou Wil and Steve.

From the post I take it this is a secretive organization/religion?
Indeed it is, in large part. In some subjects, the generalities are public and the specifics are secret,
whereas some other subjects are entirely public, such as the theological teachings.

Welcome! Hope you like it here.

Are there writings? Scripture? A philosophy followed?
Yes. The human medium to the deity wrote down all of the statements that the deity spoke to her, so I suppose that that could be called scripture. As for philosophy, there is a set of fundamental principles of truth which are foundational to much of the rest of the religion.

Hi. Welcome. So can you be persuaded to share at least some of the generalities here?

There's a forum for new religions here on this site. Post something more specific about your system there?

I think that you mean the subforum "modern religions". This religion is very different from the religions that are listed in that category, but would instead fall under the subforums "alternative/esoteric" and "alternative/magick", fitting better into the first category.

You have us sitting here with baited breath!

You really shouldn't get excited with anticipation to know more, because frankly our small group is "hanging by a thread" now due to various burdens and problems in members' lives, so I am not particularly optimistic that the religion even has a future, aside from having a few scattered solitary adherents.

Nonetheless, I will give more general information about the religion in this post (anything more specific would belong in topic-specific threads, not the personal introduction thread):

The religion falls under the broad category of being considered "right-hand path" (i.e. oriented more toward virtue than toward selfish pursuits). It is neither abrahamic, nor satanist, nor pagan, nor associated with any pre-existing paradigm, but is unique, and its deities are unique. Although there are multiple deities, the religion is centered around one particular deity. Adherents do not worship the deity, but benefit from its teachings. Although the religion includes magic, most of the magic only comes into play in the most advanced levels, which are currently unattainable, so the adherents currently practice little magic.

Interesting. In Catholicism 'The Religious' is a term used for the monks and nuns and priests etc, who take vows and wear a habit and repeat formalised prayers and rituals.

So if someone says: 'Are you religious?' it implies going to church/temple and saying formal prayers, rather than just having faith -- in a sense.

How does this religion affect you personally?

It has enlightened me with its principles of truth.
It has taught me methods of fundamental self-improvement which have changed me for the better.
It has allowed me to have mystical experiences.
Will you share three principles that most affect you?
