In cryptobiosis for 46,000 years...so we never knew about it, dound it frozen, so not extinct, yet a new species. So what the heck, thaw it out...z

The Panagrolaimus kolymaensis worm was discovered in 2002 in Siberian permafrost near the Kolyma River. Scientists revived it in 2018, and its discovery and classification as a new species were published in July 2023. Since its revival, it has reproduced asexually, with over 100 generations now studied in laboratories to understand its extreme survival mechanisms.

For the people that have frozen their heads....this is exciting news.

In the words of Samuel Morse in the very first telegraph transmission...."What hath G!d wrought" (let cold not put asunder? )
