Hello!
I'm fairly new to CR. I haven't really seen too many practical, non-philosophical posts on this forum, and that's probably a good thing. However, I was wondering if anyone knew where I might be able to find instuctions on the cleaning, purification and filling of Buddha statues.
I have searched the internet extensively and I can only find one site, www.tharpa.com that offers a guide for $12.95. I was just wondering if there's another free source I might be missing. It appears to be easier to find out how to cast your own than it is to find something on filling them.
I was also wondering about the hinayana view on Buddha filling, if there is one, are the Mahayana and Hinayana takes one in the same, etc.? I am a Mahayanist and was curious if this practice branches across both doctrines. Is this practice exclusive to Mahayanists?
Any insight anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
