HALIFAX — Scholars might have been too quick to portray Judas as a hero earlier this year, says a Nova Scotia professor who was part of the controversial project.

Craig Evans, who teaches New Testament studies at Acadia University, said mistakes were made in the interpretation of a 1,700-year-old copy of the Gospel of Judas unveiled by the National Geographic Society last April...

Cont'd

Lets see

Jesus picked Judas
Jesus is G-d incarnate
G-d don't make no mistakes.

Jesus said do what you must and do it quickly

That doesn't make Judas a hero. He was predisposed (that is, he was a shady character in the first place) to betray Jesus. So Jesus used Him in the direction Judas was going anyway.

No I don't think he was a hero...but a major player as part of the process. His was the role of a supporting actor, not some bit part, and it appears the best one for the task.

The books I read and the interpretation I read didn't say hero....this is the media hype, after calling people Judases for years...
