You betcha, the sauna is much better because the current temperature in my area is:
42.9 °F / 6.1 °C
...with light rain and wind.
{Yes, I'm going to continue to complain about the cold in June and even into July if necessary!}

From our local TV station:
Welcome to 'June-uary'?
Last lines from the article, (after talking about the snow and wind)
Quote:
So far this month, Seattle's average high temperature is 57.2 degrees -- this is a full 5 degrees below the record coldest average for June and over 12 degrees below the normal average high, although it's highly unlikely we'll stay this cool the entire month. So far, we've only had one day this month be over 60 degrees.
Some other records: This is the coldest first 8 days of June in Seattle history. Also, Seattle has never gone the first 12 days of June under 65. That record is in jeopardy, but will be close.
In the meantime, get those Valentine's Day dinner reservations in now...

Hey, the Dept. of Transportation just put out a traction tire advisary for those driving over the mountain passes--even though driving with traction tires is illegal this late in the season.

Re: 5000...again
This is my first June in Seattle, and I'm glad to hear it's not usually 50 degrees this time of year. If we keep it up, my Summer Solstice ceremony will indeed feel like Imbolc. LOL

Midatlantic is in the middle of a heat wave, high humidity and hovering around 100 degrees, that would be 38 for you centigrade/celsius folks.
In the valley in Nevada we once had 3" of snow on July 3rd, July 4th it was 80 (27 for over there) and only snow left was in the mountains.

Re: 5000...again
80's and 90's here in Detroit, after April and May were chilly-drizzle months more like extra months of winter. Maybe in Seattle too all of a sudden it will shoot up from pseudo-winter to blazing-summer with nothing in between.

Your overnight low late autumn temperatures are comparable to our late spring high temperatures over the passed couple of weeks!

Re: 5000...again
here in my town, we really only get about a week of winter. (that is, the temp drops to 3celcius at night). not even really needing a heater. but summer is glorious, generally the average day is about 29celcius but the nights are when you need an a/c cos you just cant sleep when its too hot. I dont think i could travel o/s it would be too difficult to judge the temps and what to pack.!!!!!!
