About the Theology board

The Theology Board aims to offer a form of study into specific questions relating to specific faith issues, rather than simply invite opinions as to whether a member agrees/disagrees.

Therefore the expectations is that scholarly debate and discussions, with full reference to existing theological works, will be the mainstay of this section.

This board is open to such discussions relating to any faith, but as always, please ensure discussions are reasonably civil. Also, do be aware that where posts veer away from referenced study discussions, these may be moved into the normal boards in order to preserve the remit of the Theology Board.

Would scripture itself count as a theological work?

Would a discussion on neurotheology fit into the scope of the Theology board?

In our eyes, no.

It is Revelation, its source Divine.

However, as God works through the human agency, and the testimonies are authentically those of the scribe, then there are a number of theologies contained within it — Johannine, Pauline, and so forth ...

The Constitutional Document Dei Verbum treats of this directly.

Ooops! I realise this is an old post!

Yes, if it followed the guidelines.
