Agni

this seems a little weird, but while I was meditating while focusing on a burning candle, something happened. I didn't reach Nirvana or anything, but this was much different. My question I pose to everyone is this: Is it possible for Agni (Vedas fire god) to be a Bodhisattva?

Re: Agni

Namaste Bodhi,

thank you for the post.

are you aware of the role that fire plays in the practice of Buddhism? i.e. the symboloical nature of the image and so forth? it is an oft used expression.. in a famous exposition the Buddha likened Dukkha to our mind being aflame with passion, desire and delusion.

in any event... wether or not others may agree with your assessement, if Agni were to manifest in a manner which helped you along the path, then it would be fair enough to proclaim this a Bodhisattva and get on with the experience

metta,
