The handcuff one would be excellent for a tee-shirt.

Re: Beijing Olympics
umm err link the two...
your handcuff idea is not stealing or copyright infringement...caveat speak to some legal person...if you came upon it on your own...
second...do your handcuff idea with the pix inside...yeah don't forget the tank...your words are awesome...and you put it up on your site...cafe press will print and distribute you get the nickels...
collect an income off of this...pay your tv bill....smile on the way to the bank...
I think the handcuffs and pix with your words are money and will be extremely popular!
(you'll know you'll have a hit as soon as it is banned in china!!)

Re: Beijing Olympics
Wil... I couldn't get that slogan out of my head last night trying to sleep... Over and over and over... My mind kept saying to me "Because entertainment is -far- more important than freedom.... Beijing... 2008" I swear (not blowing my own horn.) That this could be a very big slogan.... Just I don't have a website or anyway to make this work for me to pay my TV bill lol... But, I know somehow it could.... I can't stop thinking of it.... It's crazy lol...
Flow... Nice, Working on it... within 30mins? Maybe less... Cause I am good... lol this could be up... *goes to work* hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go.

Re: Beijing Olympics
Hows this?!
I made the running lanes big enough for tanks... As at the end of the day it maybe only the military there to compete... "The tank 100 metre dash!" Exciting.... And firing a javlin from the tank turret!! Well done! Beat the world record of 55 metres... The new record is!!...... 35 miles....

Re: Beijing Olympics
Just brilliant work 17th.
OK wil...how is it that one could "run" with this sort of stuff ? You seem to have ideas on it. Is it wrong to seek monies for this sort of work? I know the western capatalist value system of property ownership, earning a buck/pound or two and all of that. But to me that would smack of making an economic living on the backs of those who suffer.
A suitable balance here must be sought I think. Seattle...what do you think ? Maybe IBrian could use some extra revenue to expand his empire in useful ways, that way you/we could become passive inventors/creators/investors and not overtly be seeking direct benefits here.
Who owns the intellectual property rights to what is posted on Brian's site ? Since it is a public site does it all automatically go into the "public domain"? As creators we should have an inherent interest because it came from our heads, but Brian's company might be entitled to assignment and exclusive rights for commercialization.
Morally this sort of approach feels right to me. Wanna have an internet empire and do morally upright things at the same time anyone ? Don't think small on this, it's the Olympics. I'm sure that the IOC would also want to have a say in such doings. Somethings to think about friends.

Re: Beijing Olympics
cafe press, exactly what I mentioned...
er Cafe Press NOW
making money off the suffering....um....er....if the t-shirts sell will they raise awareness??
if they are worn all over the world.....will they make people contemplate??
If they aren't sold aren't created, aren't worn.....will they do anything??
will people suffer whether or not someone sells these shirts??
will people buy tee shirts with logos on them??
do people have disposable incomes to consider this purchase??
could 17th decide to start a nonprofit and support china and or CR and or whatever or keep all the freaking money???
You know the answers to all of the above....
and if it is in the public domain this means anyone can do it....

Re: Beijing Olympics
17th...go to the link posted by Seattle (thanks my dear) and look it over. If you think it's worth a go, lets talk on pm. If not, c'est la vie. But after scanning the designs listed under "Beijing Olympics" on the site I only found one that was anywhere in the ballpark in terms of image and message compared to what's been done here, so it might be worth the attempt. But then again, they have an intellectual property policy that says that owners of rights can go after you if they feel their ownership rights have been infringed, and Cafepress will facilitate the process if it's initiated.
So as usual rights owners have the upper hand, which means registration of what we've come up with would be advisable under copyright/trademark. It's a government process that has minimal costs involved. The IOC wouldn't like the subversive nature of what we're trying to do and that would probably be a problem after a while. But then that's the risk anyone trying to profit from designs and slogans faces. Think it over and let me know.

Re: Beijing Olympics
f'rinstance the image I put up I believe comes from a film, the Cry of the Snow Lion. I would guess uncopyrighted (?) images would have to be the order of the day if you wanted to go making t-shirts n stuff...

Re: Beijing Olympics
Wil has PM'd me two days ago? (sorry not all with it.. I am 100% sober today....) He suggested I made two accounts one with Zaadz? And one with the Cafe site..... I have to wait a few days for the Zaadz to accept my account which is quite annoying let me tell you.... But, once that is done I can then host the stuff onto cafe... OH wait.... Figured it out... What? I have to pay for it? I don't want to wear it lol... I just wanted to design stuff...
Made that... Sure as heck ain't going to buy it though lol I am broke.
Flow you mentioned people trying to profit? I wouldn't be doing this for my health... ;\ I wouldn't complain at making a small amount of money... Just a tiny little drop... But, I certainly do not wish to lose money not even a penny(cent). I simply can't afford to.
Grey.. I could make you some freaking whacky shirts trust me...

17th..way to go me lad ! Run with it, and and if they start chasing you and what you're doing, just run faster, after all, that's what the Olympics are suppposed to be about. And by the way, when you buy a castle in the highlands with your profits, we'll all expect to be invited for a proper holiday. And we'll certainly want to check out yer gardens and hothouses !
Go on in peace my bragh.

Re: Beijing Olympics
Apparently the IOC own the word "Olympic". I wonder what other parts of the dictionary they own?
