Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because YOU resemble whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful but inside are full of dead men’s bones and of every sort of uncleanness. 28 In that way YOU also, outwardly indeed, appear righteous to men, but inside YOU are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

that is what he said to them and i would think that it would not have gone down very well would it, so when i see so called christians promoting bad non bible based teachings and then even claiming to represent the God of the bible i am not afraid to point out that it is not in line with the bible and what it teaches , after all that is what Jesus did . pointing out the truth is not wrong. i am all for truth . even if people dont like the truth , but my main focus is to PREACH ABOUT THE GOODNEWS OF THE KINGDOM because it is what Jesus wants done and it is certainly being made known all over the world and yes it is JW who are making that GOODNEWS known but then it would be , Jesus is directing a great preaching work and it is GLOBAL MATTHEW 24;14

Well for one thing YOU are not Jesus, and You do not have all the answers my friend. Jesus may be exempt but YOU are not. And Jesus isn't running CR, but He has seen fit that certain persons of high caliber do, and when you are told you are being rude, well I would take that into serious consideration were I you.

What may be "right and good" for you, may not be so for another.

There are many paths to Rome, and many ways home. God I'm sure guides the heartfelt seekers along their individual paths, in this life. It is most fortunate that none of us have the clear picture of what is. It keeps us alert and searching, and seeking...

Again, justify how you come to interpret "servant" (or, alternatively, in some translations "slave") to mean "class" or "channel."

Show me Biblically where it says this is what it means.

Secondly, show me Biblically where it shows that the JW church is that ONE servant/slave.

I am not dismissing what the Bible says. I am saying exactly what the Bible says. Jesus uses a metaphor to describe a person or some people who are faithful to Him. I am not interpreting it any further than that, because that is exactly what the Bible says. The Bible does not identify who that person or people are.

Hmmm... so would identifying that person/those people be... manmade doctrine? I think so!

Quote:
and as you mentioned ,many say that they are the faithful ones ,but the fact of the matter is when it comes to christendom they have taken on manmade doctrines such as the trinity ,hellfire ect ect .
Etc. etc. indeed... Perhaps like the manmade doctrine below...

Quote:
when Jesus came into kingdom power in 1914(inline with bible prophecy and chronology )what did he find ,did he find a class of people who were faithful to true bible teachings ,yes he did and i can see that it was JW , and i can also see that Jesus certainly is feeding them GOOD bible based spiritual food ,and he has also given them great responsibility ,
Show me where the Bible says that Jesus came into kingdom power in 1914. No Bible I have (and I have many) says anything about the year 1914 in any of the prophetic books. So... would this be... manmade doctrine?! The JW interpretation?

And I'm glad that "you can see" that the faithful people are all JWs. Glad to know you have some special, priviledged access to reading the Book of Life.

Quote:
and i can also see that there is great opposition in the world to the channel Jesus is using.
Opposition in the world proves nothing. The world is also opposed to Scientology, Satanism, and all sorts of other cults and religions. Most religions are, in fact, opposed to other religions. So I hardly think opposition in the world is any proof of truth or God's favor.

Quote:
when i look at other ones who claim to be the right channel ,i can quite plainly see that they are not inline with the bible .
Indeed. I can see a lot that is not in line with the Bible too. Including anything about the year 1914, which is not found in the Bible. You may claim it is some sort of Biblical chronology that the JWs figured out, but I think I will just stick with the plain old Bible and what is in it, thanks.

Quote:
yes i have found the channel that Jesus is directing and it is very good .
I am glad it is good for you. I would say "I and you and tons of others have found A channel that Jesus is directing, and it is very good." I think it's arrogant to claim that any of us know who the servant/slave is, since obviously the Bible does not tell us.

Quote:
and for me i am going to help that channel get the goodnews done .
I think we're all aware of your motivations, mee. They aren't clandestine. What I don't understand is why you bother posting on an interfaith forum that is dedicated to DIALOGUE, not evangelism. They are two different things, and that is why you meet resistence here with these sorts of posts. The purpose of CR is for discussion, not conversion.

Quote:
helping christs brothers is the thing to do ,
Indeed.

Quote:
because then i will not be a rebellious goat i will be a sheep who is WILLING to follow Jesus channel.
I don't follow "Jesus channel." I just follow Jesus directly. I think that is what was preached in the Gospel.

"For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." John 3:16

I think that pretty much sums it up. It is not written "whoever becomes a JW" or "whoever goes to the right church." It is written "whoever believes in Him." Not much room for error there.

Furthermore, Jesus Himself did not say, "Follow the JW church" or "Follow the right church" or "Follow my channel." He said, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23

"Follow me." Again, pretty self-explanatory.

I will not interpret other passages of the Bible (such as the metaphor of the faithful servant) in ways that are incongruent with passages that are very clear and are not metaphorical. That would be twisting God's words. It is better to interpret metaphors in ways that are aligned with what is plainly said.

Indeed.

By the way, is there some reason that everyone's quotes are now showing up as my quotes? See above...

Ithink that Jesus said that there were a narrow road and a broad road, he didnt say that there were many roads to take ,he said get on the narrow road . the broad road was an easy walk ,but the narrow one was a bit more difficult
Because the narrow path is restricted by God’s laws and principles. It would appeal only to someone sincerely desiring to conform his life to God’s standards.
In sharp contrast with the broad road, which gives the illusion of freedom but in reality enslaves, the narrow road, which seems restrictive, sets a person free in every important respect. Its boundaries are set by “the perfect law that belongs to freedom.”—James 1:25.

Oh, brother. I'm in the mood for a hamburger. You know what I mean. Tsk-tsk... semantics and petty arguments rather than tackling the points I bring up.

First, do you mean Matt 28:19-20? If so, you can stop sparring with me. Because I am already baptized and my church already follows the Bible's teachings. So obviously, you must have another motivation there...

It gets back to my point about a minority of Christians deciding that for some reason they get to decide who the "real" Christians are, and being all uncomfortable if every person on the planet doesn't go to their church. Jesus said to preach the Gospel and baptize people and obey the Bible. He did not say make everyone a JW, and in case you didn't notice, 1) lots of other churches do these things and 2) the JW church is a very recent one, so there's a whole bunch of older churches that did this in the past before JWs came along.

The other two verses just say more or less the same thing.

Now, here's the kicker. If you're always in the mood to do that, why are you on CR? Because it isn't designed for that type of activity. And your ability to do it is more or less limited to the Christian forum, which is populated with people who already know the Gospel, have been baptized, and are trying to live according to Biblical standards.

So what is your point in talking with us at all? I am not saying that in a snarky way, lest my internet bluntness imply I am. I am really curious, after years of glancing over your posts, why you are here. It is an interfaith forum, and we gather to discuss multiple viewpoints. Proselytizing is against the COC. So why come if all you are in the mood for is preaching at others?

I don't think Jesus was wrong in anything He did. I do not think that makes it right for you to act like you have the authority Jesus did. Like comparing apples and... supernova, really.

Quote:
because as christians we should be followers of christ and look to his example? and in matthew 28-19-20 a follower of christ would teach what Jesus taught .
Yep, so explain to me how calling others' beliefs idiotic is teaching what Jesus taught.

Quote:
and in Matt. 23:27, 28, Jesus said to those who on the outside resembled religious teachers , but what they taught was not clean at all .
Yes. And Jesus knew exactly what the right teachings were, because He was God. Oh, wait, you don't buy into that. He was specially appointed by God. There, I hope we can all agree on that.

Now, you tell me how you are the one who can decide what is clean and unclean teaching for everyone, so long as it is not directly and obviously stated in the Bible. Because neither the trinity nor the JW interpretation of the Godhead is in there explicitly. So I'd like for you to provide some evidence that you are specially chosen to understand the Bible and everyone else's beliefs well enough to speak with the same authority as Christ.

Quote:
Woe to YOU, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because YOU resemble whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful but inside are full of dead men’s bones and of every sort of uncleanness. 28 In that way YOU also, outwardly indeed, appear righteous to men, but inside YOU are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
What does that have to do with interpretations and beliefs, such as the trinity?

Here, Jesus very clearly is not discussing unclean teaching. He is discussing an unclean heart or interior.

Matt 23:28 says clearly that they appear outwardly just and upright (they do, if Jesus had meant their teachings, he would have said so), but inside they are "full of pretense and lawlessness and iniquity." Nothing is said whatsoever about teaching, Jesus' emphasis is on the teachers. He is saying to us that we should not be presenting a shiny, holy exterior while secretly being immoral. To do so is to lie, which only compounds ones sins.

Quote:
even if people dont like the truth , but my main focus is to PREACH ABOUT THE GOODNEWS OF THE KINGDOM because it is what Jesus wants done and it is certainly being made known all over the world and yes it is JW who are making that GOODNEWS known but then it would be , Jesus is directing a great preaching work and it is GLOBAL MATTHEW 24;14

Then why are you here. Again... The COC says this is not a place to "advertise" God's kingdom. And anyway, the Christianity forum ALREADY KNOWS.

So far, you have also failed to provide any answers to the questions I originally posed. Which doesn't really surprise me, because I haven't had a JW yet that actually answers any of my questions. It usually turns out like this.

Do you think being repetitious without ever actually addressing my points will accomplish anything?

Second, you explain to me how JWs have cornered the market on the fruit of the Spirit, which is "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." (Galatians 5:22)

If I am to judge who the faithful are by the fruits of the Spirit, I see people with these qualities in abundance in every major world religion. The late Mother Theresa comes to mind as an exemplar...

Now, you prove to me that only the JW church has people who show the fruit of the Spirit. You prove to me that the Catholic and other Christian saints did not show these fruits.

And then I will believe you...

You see, mee- I am just following what is in line with the Bible's teaching...
