Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...811332,00.html

Could this be considered the beginning of the end?

i think so. with the catholic church looking for signs from the virgin mary, no longer swearing by the truth of the BIble, muslims currently running off christian evangelicals from islamic lands and getting more and more people to deny christ, and jw going door to door getting people to not worship jesus as lord but as michael and to deny the trinity as one, i see the beginnings of the end. then throw in: sum eyes all to the middle east, united europe, and russia and china combining forces, lots of natural disasters picking up pace, it all is starting to take form.

correction needed here i think, JW go from door to door because it was a command from Gods son Jesus christ to tell others about the Good news of the kingdom , the aim is to point people to the whole of the bible including Genesis . the first ever prophecy is in the book of Genesis chapter 3; verse 15 and this prophecy runs through the whole of the bible , so the bible does not make any sense without Genesis , it just goes to show that the ones who dismiss parts of the bible are not those who have any accurate knowledge of the bible , thats what lack of wisdom does ... if you cant explain it get rid of it , Jesus christ who is Gods son and always held to truth and accurate knowledge , did not dismiss the book of Genesis, but refered to it many times , if we take the book of Genesis away we would have to take all of the scriptures that refer to Genesis away to ..... still i suppose that is the aim of those who are not able to understand the bible ....
All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work...2 timothy 3;16........does it say only the bits i like and understand or does it say ALL SCRIPTURE

Re: Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible

I read the article and it struck me that the Catholic Church was getting this one just right.

Re: Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible

65-70 % of christians have never even read it to begin with. so how would they even know what it says to seek a deeper meaning.

i think more religions will toss their faith in the Word out the window for science & technology & the theories & just stick with whatever the preacher says.

actually i have expected this to come to pass so it is not a big suprize. i am not catholic so i wont be tossing any of the bible out or swear that any of it is not true. i think they may regret their wording of this later & it wont be the first time.
the only thing i agreed with on any of that is the fundies need to get their heads on straight, yet that does not mean tossing the bible or parts of it.
i see how those scriptures definately tie into some real big mysteries, that others just dont see.

a bit early for me.
it is no wonder i stand faithful with the orthodox Jew, while accepting Christ as the Messiah. I think I am a Jew deep inside & not a Christian in the modern sense of the term.
i am not sure what i am any more other than a joint heir with christ, & i know i do not belong here on this earth for long because i feel like an alien to all these religions & decisions people make. if the masses are doing it, i most likely wont be there.

to toss creation & Adam/Eve is like tossing Christ/Church & God/Israel & the truth that is hidden within, for some childrens science project. IMO

oh well, cant change what will be or what others do & i am not going to worry about it
