China in space
Well, the Chinese have now announced their 100 day ountdown to a mission to put man in space. If they succeed China will be only the third nation to do so.
Here a re couple of articles covering the topic: China manned space mission nears - BBC '100 day countdown' to China's first astronaut - New Scientist What does anyone else feel about this development? Will the Chinese space-race contribute to our general achievements in science and technology, and the general dream of manned missions beyond the moon? Or is this a worrying military development, that will allow China to more directly face against the US in future coflicts of interest? |
