Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Bible prophecy always come true the way the Bible says it will! The JHW's have been making endtime predictions since they came out in the 1800's and not one came true. The Bible says if a prophet speaks a prophecy that is not true, they are not of God, but a false prophet. To be a true Prophet of God you have to be correct 100% of the time!
The JHWs have made many of false prophecies. The sad thing is, most of them in dont even know their own history, and so they follow this cult. Now please dont think Im being mean, Im not! I love these people, and it just hurts me that they blindy follow after a cult, and not the true Jesus. I get so pissed!
Ok, Im venting now. God Bless everyone, and sorry!

Hey Proph, welcome to CR. A cult has a leader, like a pope or a father. The JW's have neither. Most of them have read the entire Bible line by line, have you? If you have it talks about Jesus' main commandment which is to love one another like Jesus loved you.
P.S., this is a comparative site where members or all religions compare views even if they don't agree on some subjects. As a new member, attacking another ones faith actually hurts your soul and I would suggest perhaps turning the computer off for a while and thinking what Jesus would want you to do and then gathering the spititual aspects of what you are trying to accomplish, turn the computer back on and then proceding with the posts. Peace and love to you buddy in your spiritual conquests tommy

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Hey Tommy,
Thanks for the Welcome! Just to let you know though. Real love is not just something you say, but something you show. Love is tangable. I say this to make a point, and it is this: Jesus is the very epitomy of love. Yet, the Lord himself was intolerant to relgions, and relgious ways. He was angry that these people, whom he loved and whom he died for, would chose someone, or something other than himself, which is the only way to God (according to him). He loved them and invited them to life. Yet, they said they loved him and chose other ways. He [Jesus] said something that may sound "mean", but the nevertheless LOVED them!
In the sameway I love all of humanity. I say this with no hidden agenda, as God knows my heart, and he knows its true. I may at times say things that sound intolerant, but the truth is, I say it with Love. You'll never see my killing anyone, or forcing anyone to believe what I believe. You might however, see me pleading with people to give their lives to Christ.
Later!
PS: The JWs does have people who they reconize as leaders.

You are confusing two very different meanings of the term "religon." I can see where you could rightly say Jesus was against institutionalized religion. However, since Jesus taught religious precepts and concepts, indeed, a full-blown religion grew out of His teachings, I would tread with caution even in saying that. The second use of the term religion is a very personal application of religious teaching. By that definition, I think you will find that not only was Jesus very much in agreement, He taught! Not only that, those things He taught are mostly in agreement with the other major world faiths. So...perhaps a little tighter hold on the reins is in order, please.

I would like very much to refer you to the Code of Conduct for this site. There you will see that this will not be tolerated. There is a very good reason for this. In the Christianity section it would be preaching to the choir...so what if you don't like the particular flavor of the moment, be respectful. In the other sections dedicated to other faiths it is not acceptable because those are places for discussing those particular faiths, respectfully, not trying to convert. Proselytizing is also not allowed in the comparative or lounge sections either, or anyplace on this site. If it is a soapbox you desire, please start your own blog somewhere else. We do not deal well with self-proclaimed prophets around here. We find they are not generally very respectful to others. In the end that is the only thing we ask of all participants, to be respectful. If you can do that much you are most welcome to join in.

First, where did Jesus teach Religion? Secondly, please define the word religion so I can tell you why TRUE Christanity isnt one.

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Hello, and Peace to All Here--
If I might attempt to answer you, Proph1--
I am a believer in Christ. Perhaps it is the spirit in which you seem to say what you have to say. Welcome to CR--I am not a moderator or anything, but I think you might find that if you look deep enough--maybe take some time and read a little about the people here and what has been posted over time, you might see that there are many here who are not opposed to the central message of Jesus Christ.
My understanding regarding this forum is that people may speak freely about their beliefs--I see that you have that part down. But the idea is to do so in a respectful manner, considering the faith of others (including Christians--regardless of what many may think, we are a complex bunch!)
I am only trying to help--maybe you would benefit more (and glory God more) if you will just take it a little easy--I mean, you just got here, right?
InPeace,
InLove

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
You're right! Please excuse me if I get to worked up, as I often do when I talk about the Bible and such. Also, I am fully aware that there are divisions in the Christian faith. I want you to know that I personally beleive we can disagree on many of the nonessiental issues. However, as for the core fundamentals, as Chrisitans we must unite on them and agree. Of course, being a Christians you do know the essentials - that Jesus died, and rose to save mankind from sins. That he is both Man and God. That he alone is the way to God. If you dont agree...well, I'll say my piece in discussion of course. But, like you suggested, I'll try to do it in a nicer manner.
Thanks!

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Hi, Proph 1,
LOL--I am not swift of hand or eye, and I messed up my five log-in attempts. I had to wait fifteen minutes .
Anyway, you will be okay--just remember, God is Love--you know that. That is why He could "send" His Son.
It is late, and now I am really logging out--
InPeace,
InLove

right. that is what he is saying.
you can't preach anywhere at CR but you can make some friends here if you try. i have a pastor who preaches & teaches & he is a true shephard to me. i don't need another one.
so NO. dont preach. share your beliefs & listen to other beliefs. ask & answer questions, but dont preach the answers & questions.
if you really want to preach, you could ask God to guide you as an evangelist or missionary or find a good church home. but you know it takes a whole lifetime to become a pastor or a bishop...so remember that.

the important thing to do as a follower of Jesus christ is to listen to him ,and Jesus told his followers to keep on the watch ,that is why his true followers will always be watching out for the signs that Jesus left us , so as you say Jehovahs witness have always been very aware of the times we live in .i think the confusion ariseswhen people who may not have the correct thinking on the (end of the world) .the earth , will not come to an end but manmade rulership will .in fact in the 1905 sept 1st watchtower magazine it warned that there will be more war ere long ,also stating that a great cataclysm would start in 1914 .also as early as 1879the magpointed to 1914 as a significant date and in later years it noted that bible prophecies in the book of daniel pinpointed that date as the time when Gods kingdom was established in heaven(matthew 6;10)so while 1914 was not the time for the kingdom to take complete control of earths affairs, it was the time for it to begin its rule.so that kingdom that is spoken of in Daniel 2;44has now been set up in the heavens while the existing kings on earth are still ruling themselves.that kingdom with christ as king, started gathering here upon the earthGod-fearing people who wanted to be ruled by this kingdom(isaiah 2;2-4)(matthew 24;14)revelation7;9-15)so 1914 was the beginning of the last days of man ruling himself.that is my belief and i find it so very very thrilling to be living at this point in history every thing is coming true just as the bible says it will . jesus foretold that the start of this time periodwould be marked byworld wars, food shortages ,disease epidemics, devastating earthquakes, and increased lawlessness,as well as the cooling off of peoples love for God and man.yes this was the beginning of distress...matthew24;;3-12

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Bandit,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question that was not directed to you. However, since you did invite yourself into the conversation, let me explain myself. When I said "preach" all I ment was discussing what I believe. I didnt mean to litterally preach to you guys. How can I, when all I can do is type written words? That said however, I dont agree with you that it takes a lifetime to become a pastor. You see, anyone born again, and reborn with the Spirit of truth, will know the truth. And, while we are not all called to be preachers, we are all (God's People) called to preach. That is all I mean when I say preach - witness the word.
Later!

Re: Christ's Kingdom?
Mee,
I'd like you and I to discuss the JW's version of the Bible vs Mainsteam Judo-Christian beliefs. I know we both have strong feelings and convictions to our beliefs, but I am willing to leave my preconcieved notions behind to talk with you brother to brother. I gladly call you brother because you are a believer in Christ as the Son of The Most High God. Yet, I do believe you are in err for many things. It is because of this that I would like to have a friendly debate. A wise man once said:
"The only certain barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it."
Would you be willing to leave behind your preconcieved ideals to hear and consider something different?
Thanks!

Maybe the kingdom that Christians enter after life is Christs? and he is the king of it? Also what did Jesus actually mean by calling himself a king? The bible says he was a descendant of King David, could he have meant it literally? Or is it purely spiritual?

This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule as king over the house of Jacob forever, and there will be no end of his kingdom....luke 1; 32;-33 so jesus is the one in the line of David who will rule Gods kingdom, would you not agree?but the bible tells us that it will not be on the earth but in heaven
But YOU have approached a Mount Zion and a city of [the] living God, heavenly Jerusalem, and myriads of angels....hebrews 12;22
(Revelation 21:2) I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband
Jerusalem is used in the Bible to represent the Davidic kingdom
But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother." (Galatians 4:26)
