Oh yes Saltmeister that's just what us ladies are looking for, a bloke that can sink 10 pints, be rude to the waiter in the indian, puke in the bushes and breath fumes all over us, while trying to grope our bits. Oh and it helps if you can fart & burp whilst doing this.

God not having a sense of humor? One only has to look at the duck-billed platypus to find evidence for God's sense of humor!

Pork yes; yum (sorry). Alcohol no.

Alcohol is an addictive poison. It destroys individuals (I do some work in a detox unit) and corrodes society. And I drink the stuff. So you're doing the right thing. Maybe you should work on the pork thing and I will continue with my alcohol fight. Maybe one day...soon I hope...

Re: Condemnation
I am a Christian who also does not drink or eat pork. (well most of the time) I just want to say that we can eat or drink anything as long as its unto the Lord.. we are told however that all things should be done in moderation.. we now know its possible to drink too much water so even the most harmless but needful things are dangerous out of moderation.
I do not drink Alcohol because its a stumbling block for most people. I also have alcoholism in my family and I know what it can do to people and their lives.
I do not eat Pork because they are nasty animals that are scavengers and they will eat anything even humans. I used to love shellfish but I no longer eat those either for the same reason. I believe my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and for the same reason I quit smoking.. there is also a stigma associated with smoking so praise the Lord He gave me victory over that addiction which is a bondage of the flesh.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Well I suppose if the choice in captivity was eat human flesh or die of starvation they will. Rather like humans would. But human flesh does not form a normal part of a pig's diet I don't think (I mean in their natural habitat not when kept in a farm, sometimes in appalling conditions...but I digress...)

I probably should stay out of this, but I feel compelled to add a tidbit:
Considering that wild boars are a rather challenging prey for hunters, I have been told by a farmer that a pig will turn to the scent of blood...human or otherwise. I was told of an old boy who caught his arm on the top rail while feeding the pigs. He started bleeding, the ol' boar smelled it and reached up and bit the man's arm off.
Don't know if someone was pulling my leg or not, but I have never looked at pigs quite the same since.
