Re: Consciousness: A Symptom of the Soul?
He united a country that was falling apart.. He even gave some dreams... He protected his country in a previous world war.. He was a decorated hero. It goes on, as I said one man's hero is anothers "monster" some things he did, there is alot of people that would disagree yes, but there are many that would agree..... Understand? Any many can be seen as good and can also be seen as bad, I'll leave that up to "someone" else to decide though...

Re: Consciousness: A Symptom of the Soul?
On the balance I think it's safe to say he was negative. I think its bad enough that a politican can be a role model anyway, let alone hitler. People are better off chosing someone in the art's if they arn't religious.

Namaste all,
i can see no foundation for posutlating the existence of any eternal, unchanging substance or essence within the universe.
the idea that humans have a soul which endures beyond physical death is a product of a fear based ego which has identified its processes as its self.
consciousness is.

I cannot speak authoritatively, only from my own sense of how things work. I would say that 95-99% of "thought" is 100% personal and all is lost on death. The 5-1% is our inter-relationship with planet Earths life force, or Gaia. In that we both receive and contribute. But do not forget a beer with 5% alcohol will get you very drunk.

i don't understand this because he killed alot of people. that alone nullifies any "good" he did and if there is such thing as "good" in his life that he did then it was out of selfish reasons. if you are going to do something good, do it for the whole of humanity, not just for a country. if not, then just don't do it. but you are right, we are all entitle to our opin. thanks for the response.

So we based this great civilisation we built on a lie?! Poor pyramid builders This thought I have considered once, but I really think it isn't true. If you could really connect ego with the soul ideology how come theres millions of people that do not believe in a soul who have not rid there fear egos?

Because fear ego is a pervasive survival mechanism.

Re: Consciousness: A Symptom of the Soul?
Fear is an inherent part of being human, it's a comfort to say it’s a negative ego just as much to say theres a heaven. Both are a comfort to me and although I do not disagree with reincarnation I think it lacks the love that is found in monotheistic Abrahamic soul/heaven concept.

so basically what you are saying is that 95% of our thoughts are from personal and 5% are from the earth? from what i understand the only thing the earth really does is provide sustinance to survive, food, clothe, water, etc. and also it swallows us up when we are dead. i guess i can agree with you because to me, God communicates to man and thru God, man knows about the earth and her needs. i think i see what you mean.

Not really from earth as an inanimate body, rather from the collective conciousness of life on earth.

Re: Consciousness: A Symptom of the Soul?
I would still make the claim that thoughts are activities of the mind, much as motion is the activity of a car. Neither can a car drive without human interaction, nor a mind think without the association of the soul. The road surface, roadsigns, the other car users, passengers, type of car etc... all have a bearing on how, where and why the car is being driven in a particular way, but ultimately without the driver there would be no motion of the vehicle.
