Re: Curious...
I think I asked Brian about the list once and he said it was more a way to draw people in. For example, afaik there are no and have never been active representatives of Reform Judaism on the site which doesn't even exist under that name in the UK where the closest thing to it is called Liberal Judaism (a very confusing name when trying to speak in general about the liberal movements.) My own views are very far from Reform views. I think they put far too much emphasis on the autonomy of the individual and far too little emphasis on spirituality, traditional Jewish values, religious practice, Judaism as an ongoing way of life outside the shul and a handful of other things including lack of foresight about the effects some of their decisions have on the whole of the Jewish people. And as a sefardic Jew BB often doesn't label himself as Orthodox which he sees as something that developed in Ashkenazic Judaism independant of Sefardic Judaism. But I think we both tend to gravitate toward the label post-denominational which, while a valuable description for either of us, is a minority label and very broad. If it instead said sefardi and renewal that would still speak to fewer visitors to the front page, unless they're attracted by things that they don't know so much about.

Re: Curious...
Wil, I just wanted to congratulate you on your first task completed. Jolly well done, the problem was solved, with expedience, efficiency and as little actual effort as possible therefore not distrupting anyone else's day to day posting. Have you ever thought of becoming a political candidate?

What really impressed me was your ability to totally negate someone's genuine concerns whilst still maintaining an appearance of complete concern and determination to attend to their needs. Perfect political material.

Yeah, genuine, concerned, 17, in the same thought....while I believe it often to be the case...it is often buried.
Brian answered in a concise way with actual forum historical knowledge...
I swatted ruthlessly...I should really work on that.

Okay you do have a very good point there, objection withdrawn on the grounds that it was 17th.

I wish we had that smilie that rolls around the floor laughing, see what you can do about that Wil. Sorry sweetheart but are you capable of swatting ruthlessly, you seem so level headed and gentle?

If you like spicy food try Egyptian, even the cornflakes have spice on (ok a small exaggeration there but only just). Went to the doc last year with stomach ache and he said 90% of his Egyptian patients have the same problem and I quote "your stomach would have to be made of metal to not get sick with the spicy egyptian food".
