Proverbs 8:15-21 (New International Version)

15 By me kings reign
and rulers make laws that are just;

16 by me princes govern,
and all nobles who rule on earth. [a]

17 I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.

18 With me are riches and honor,
enduring wealth and prosperity.

19 My fruit is better than fine gold;
what I yield surpasses choice silver.

20 I walk in the way of righteousness,
along the paths of justice,

21 bestowing wealth on those who love me
and making their treasuries full.

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."—John 17:3.

the true God is JEHOVAH PSALM 83;18

and the one he sent forth is his son JESUS CHRIST LUKE 9;35 JOHN 3;16

we can take in knowledge about both of these in the bible . its all in there

Jeremiah 10:3 for the customs of the peoples are false. A tree from the forest is cut down, and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.

2 "I am the most ignorant of men;
I do not have a man's understanding.
3 I have not learned wisdom,

Proverbs 30:5-6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

5 Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.
6 Don't add to His words, or He will rebuke you, and you will be proved a liar.

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll;
and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll. REVELATION 22 ;18;19

Luke 1:46-55 (New International Version)

46And Mary said:
"My soul glorifies the Lord
47and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49for the Mighty One has done great things for me—
holy is his name.
50His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55to Abraham and his descendants forever,
even as he said to our fathers."

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

Psalm 62 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Psalm 62
Trust in God Alone
1 I am at rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from Him. (A)

2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, (B)
my stronghold; I will never be shaken. (C)

3 How long will you threaten a man?
Will all of you attack [a]
as if he were a leaning wall
or a tottering stone fence? (D)

4 They only plan to bring him down
from his high position.
They take pleasure in lying;
they bless with their mouths,
but they curse inwardly. (E)

Selah

5 Rest in God alone, my soul,
for my hope comes from Him. (F)

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, (G)
my stronghold; I will not be shaken. (H)

7 My salvation and glory depend on God;
my strong rock, my refuge, is in God. (I)

8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts before Him.
God is our refuge. (J)

Selah

9 Men are only a vapor;
exalted men, an illusion.
On a balance scale, they go up;
together they [weigh] less than a vapor. (K)

10 Place no trust in oppression,
or false hope in robbery.
If wealth increases,
pay no attention to it. (L) [b]

11 God has spoken once;
I have heard this twice:
strength belongs to God, (M)

12 and faithful love belongs to You, LORD.
For You repay each according to his works. (N)

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

I have two favorite Scriptural sarcasms which I find to be sheer genius. One in the Old Testament, and one in the New. The first is from I Kings 18:21-39. Elijah told the people that they should choose two bullocks and place them on two altars of wood. He then said:

"And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answers by fire, let him be God"

They all agreed, and so the priests of Baal went first:

"And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O BAAL, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they LEAPED upon the altar which was made.

And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is on a journey, or peradventure he sleeps, and must be wakened.

Better though, when this verse is read from The Living Bible:

"About noontime, Elijah began mocking them. ‘You’ll have to shout louder than that,’ he scoffed, ‘to catch the attention of your god! Perhaps he is talking to someone, or is out sitting on the toilet, or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened.’"

The best though, is Matt 21:24-27. The proverb tells us to "Answer a fool according to a fool." And Jesus was a Master at doing this. The Chief Priest and Elders of the temple asked Jesus by what authority He did the things He did. Here then is my favorite New Testament sarcasm by Jesus:

"And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which IF you tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; He will say unto us, Why did you not then believe him? But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet. And they answered Jesus, and said, we cannot tell.

And He [Jesus] said unto them, NEITHER TELL I YOU by what authority I do these things"

Sarcasm? Maybe, but pure genius...
