Hi Dor, no problem. I saw where the question came up and I'm glad you were able to clarify.

And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work .....2 timothy3;16-17

"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." - Psalms 51:17

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." - II Chronicles 7:14

"The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you. The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you. The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them." - Deuteronomy 28:9-14

Such are the promises to Israel.

There are many, many other verses.

i am putting this one up from memory...forgive if i mess it up.

beloved, let us love one another. for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. he that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is love.
beloved, let us love one another.

I think my favorite teaching has got to be these verses from Colossians 1, which sum up for me the entire Purpose of Christ's Ministry, and the heart of his message to everyone:
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
God Bless,
protokletos

Thumbs up Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

Job 38:1-7 ....

1 And Jehovah proceeded to answer Job out of the windstorm and say:

2 "Who is this that is obscuring counsel by words without knowledge?

3 Gird up your loins, please, like an able-bodied man, And let me question you, and you inform me.

4 Where did you happen to be when I founded the earth ? Tell [me], if you do know understanding.

5 Who set its measurements, in case you know, Or who stretched out upon it the measuring line ?

6 Into what have its socket pedestals been sunk down, Or who laid its cornerstone,

7 When the morning stars joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause ?
This is the start of a poetical discourse that Jehovah gives to Job, showing us his creative power, his omniscient knowledge, and the glory that the other spirit beings give to him when they see the amazing tangible creations that he has made. Also it highlights the seeming insignificance of man to everything made, yet in the same breath Jehovah shows that man is not truly insignificant to He, the creator, or forgotten, as with Job he was greatly rewarded for his integrity..... A hope for all those that hold out against persecutions in the name of Jehovah God. It illustrates Gods love, and that God is love....A lesson given by the Father to us, his children.

It also gives an insight into the creation apart from the account in Genesis, and the rest of the chapters show the workings of Gods natural laws by way of his creative power.

There are many beautiful scriptures, but these final chapters of Job have a ring to them, as they are directly from the voice of Jehovah God.

Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me

2 Cor 12:9-10 "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Yay!

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance 2 peter 3;9......... jehovah has the power to destroy anything, but what a loving God he is allowing us to repent and turn to him before he destroys the wicked

And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more psalm 37;10

But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth
But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell...2 peter 3;13

Re: Favorite Bible Quotes

Hey, this is my first time on this website, and I thought this post was a really nice idea, since so much time is spent arguing and debating, and it's just nice to reflect with each other on God's message and how it has affected us all.

There are so many great verses and it's so hard to choose, so here's a few of mine:

'Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.' (Matthew 6:34 NIV) - perfect for when you're totally stressing out over stuff, to remind you who is in control

'Are two sparrows not sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of the Father . . . so don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.' (Matthew 10:29 - 31 NIV) - no matter whether you feel scared , or hard done by , or sad , it's an amazing verse just for remembering how much God cares about you, and that no matter how you feel, he's looking after you all the time

'In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.' (John 16:33 NIV) - I suppose we all know the feeling of ridicule or persecution at the expense of our faith, so it's really encouragin to know that these petty things don't matter when the bigger picture is looked at

'Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.' (1 Corinthians 15:59 NIV) - reassurance when you need it
