Happy New Year eh?
Interesting the Celtic new year beginning in the 'dark half' akin it seems to the Jewish day beginning at sundown? Bone fires of old become bonfires? Hollowed turnip flashlights become jackolanterns? All hallows eve creates our little urchin goblins...interesting stuff all...
And Blessed Samhain to you and yours.

Re: happy Hallowe'en/ Samhain to everyone!
"Every beginning has an ending,
And every ending is a new beginning.
In Life is Death, and in Death is Life.
Watch over me, my loved ones, and all of my
Brothers and Sisters, here and departed,
Who, tonight are joined together again for
Fellowship and celebration.
Bless us all as we light our bonfires, our hearth fires,
And the eternal fires in our hearts.
Guide us and protect us,
Tonight and throughout the coming year.
Blessed Be! Blessed Be!"
Samhain Ritual
A time when its easier to change outmoded ways before saturnalia festivities descends upon us and when its harder to stick to to resolutions put in place on January 1st in the dead of winter [when one wants to mollycoddle oneself!]

Re: happy Hallowe'en/ Samhain to everyone!
Said a blade of grass to an autumn leaf, "You make such a noise falling! You scatter all my winter dreams." Said the leaf indignant, "Low-born and low-dwelling! Songless, peevish thing! You live not in the upper air and you cannot tell the sound of singing."
Then the autumn leaf lay down upon the earth and slept. And when spring came she waked again -- and she was a blade of grass.
And when it was autumn and her winter sleep was upon her, and above her through all the air the leaves were falling, she muttered to herself, "O these autumn leaves! They make such a noise! They scatter all my winter dreams."
