Over the years the age old expression that "Man is in the image of God" has been changed to "God is in the image of Man." This naturally makes Gods and Goddesses guilty of the same sins we are.
The classic male sin is false pride or imagined self importance. In contrast the classic female sin is vanity or the dominance of physical appearance over the importance of the "Inner Man" or the potential of our "being."
Self importance likes to be praised where vanity seeks to captivate by appearance or to be worshipped. It is not surprising then that these gods and goddesses we create should reflect our own psychological limitations.
