Hello everyone

hi!

just found this site and i have to say how cool it is to finally find a place where i can express my spirituality and ask those tricky questions that need tp be asked. Just so u know.. i'm a new buddhist. just found my path. so i'm still learning, but i'll be grateful for any help.

Peace,

A blessing on your head. Matzo tov, matzo tov. A daughter to be fed. Matzo tov, matzo tov. (My apologies to the lyricist for Fiddler on the Roof) *throws crystal champagne flute at mantlepiece, carefully avoiding either hitting someone with flute or flying shards of crystal*

I have an academic curiosity, LittleLotus.

You say: Just so u know.. i'm a new buddhist. just found my path. so i'm still learning, but i'll be grateful for any help.

You have newly found a path, but you are still wondering where it leads to or what kind of a path it is.

Is that not like taking the medicine before reading the whole prescription instructions and the write-up about the drug?

No, I have nothing against Buddhism.

I guess you have just received the gift of faith from, by, or through someone or something.

Welcome to the forum.

That darn Susma, always asking the tough questions.

Hey, let's take a look one more time at what LittleLotus said:

Maybe I'm taking her words too literally, Susma, but I don't see where she said that she is "wondering where it leads" or doesn't know "what kind of path it is." She simply says that she is new, has just found her path, and is still learning. Is it possible that you assume to much, Susma?

Welcome, LittleLotus, and congratulations as well!

Don't let you take any perturbations from me. What's that? Perturbations. Let's all be Buddhistic about our exchange.

Be calm with me. I am trying always to not write a book on How to Antagonize People, and Make Enemies.

Learn from Vaj. He's got a lot to bear with me. Hahaha.

actually i did research buddhism alot before i asked myself whether i believed in the values of this great philosophy. No i'm not some little kid whos claiming to be a buddhist because its become somewhat trendy. I'm not offended at all. But i was being honest about still needing to learn more. I'm actually going to tibet, nepal and india later this year to learn more about buddhism with some gurlfriends of mine. Its given me a new view of life and i am very grateful ive received this knowledge so early in my life.

You are too new in Buddhism to visit Nepal, Tibet, Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, the Kwan-Yin worshippers of China, and the Zen monasteries of Japan. Wait ten years in your active faithful practice of Buddhism; and if you still take Buddhism seriously, then go visit these places where the peoples have been at it for centuries.

If you visit these places now, you might just lapse into the plague of Roma veduta, fede perduta.* Or you will upon coming back experience the tidal waves of doubts over your newly embraced faith.

Susma Rio Sep

Roma veduta, fede perduta -- Rome seen, faith lost.

I am most embarrassed.

But tell me, are your parents natives of India but you passed over to Australia as a child and grew up there?

Just curious.

The Internet makes the world smaller and smaller, and we have all become neghbors next door as a result. Good for us all.
