Interesting pair of quotes
Here are a couple of interesting quotes to compare:
Quote:
THE MAYAVADIS SAY EVERYTHING IS ONE BUT WE DISAGREE THEREFORE THERE IS TWO."
A C Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada
|
compared to:
Quote:
When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"
Gospel of Thomas, verse 11

Amoebas multiply without question...........
.if they were to ask would it be.....
'Am I the outer or the inner? What happens when I am three, but see I'm already four, oh my gosh and more, and yet I know myself as me.'

Under these two aspects, it is really the same; but as development
takes place, it receives the different names. Together we call them

Re: Interesting pair of quotes
All is the balance
between the One and the Two
The inner and the outer
as one view..........harmony.
Causative through One
See now Two.

Re: Interesting pair of quotes
Hmm, what is wrong with picture?
(Keeping in mind the Tao Te Ching chapter 1 posted above, the two original quotes, as well as this one?)
"Therefore it is said, 'In representing the Dao of Heaven, one uses the terms Yin and Yang, and in representing the Dao of Earth, one uses the terms Soft and Hard, while in representing the Dao of Man, one uses the terms Love and Righteousness.'"
--Zhou Dunyi
When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"
Gospel of Thomas, verse 11
THE MAYAVADIS SAY EVERYTHING IS ONE BUT WE DISAGREE THEREFORE THERE IS TWO."
A C Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada
So, What's wrong with this picture?

Re: Interesting pair of quotes
Is the point of the tao to put away personal desire, bringing inner peace through a sort of death of either the Tiger or the Dragon? In the picture the Tiger and Dragon desire each other, which means they are both wide awake, changing places and characteristics. As long as both are alive and awake, desire continues, right? I can't wait to hear the answer.
Also, the tiger's left hind paw resembles a cowboy boot.
