Smile It's nice to meet you...

Hello everyone. I've been meaning to make the time to sit down and join this board for a little while now. I'm a little nervous though, this is a slightly larger board than I'm used to.

I do want to say that it is heart-warming to see so many people coming together to discuss so many different religions. I look forward to meeting and getting to know some of you.

Zdrastvuitsye, hola, shalom, salaam, Dia dhuit, namastar ji, hej, konnichiwa, squeak, meow, Rakehel.

Personal question (curiosity killed :kitty:, satisfaction brought :kitty: back to life): which tribe do you belong to?

Welcome, and I would like to tell you about myself and my tendencies. One of which is to ask questions about how people, like you and me, get to maintain the positions they do maintain and even advocate or defend.

If you think and tell me that you would not or could not share with me your self-knowledge in this respect, then I will respect your privacy. But otherwise I think we all can learn from each other's convictions and the ways and means whereby we come to them.

The fear I always have is that we might be talking endlessly of things which we really intimately in our hearts and minds know nothing about in our most deep recesses of feeling and thinking. We would then be talking and not saying anything which we might not be able to read in a standard textbook or manual of the issue concerned.

Hi Rakehel, and welcome to cR.

You don't need to feel worried being around here - we really don't have any problems with flaming or abuse - it's a comfortable place to share ideas and thoughts. Everyone's pretty friendly and civil, and that's the way it shall remain.

Btw - quick note - your signature link isn't working - you may want to look at editing that.

Is the internet so no point on being shy. Express your thoughts and opinion. Welcome to CR!

Cool

I apologize for the lapse of time between my original post here and this reply. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Phyllis: I am not of Native American ancestry, if that is the question. Still, I've found that "tribe" or "tribal" is a way of thinking too. (And it's a forum site.)

Susma: responding to your reply seems somewhat harder for me. I'm not certain what you mean by "my position," or my defending or advocating something. I do agree that we learn from others, and that it may be entirely possible that we talk about things that one would be better to learn via a textbook.

I, Brian: you must remain busy with such an active board. I hope to gain new insight into people's various views on religion and spirituality, while making a friend or two along the way.

juantoo: thank you.

iKwak: If I may say humbly, if I were to be less shy on the Internet than I am in person, would I have lost any respect from one of us? I hope that whether it be here or in person, we are all who we are.
