Re: Jury awards father $11M in funeral case

cyberpi, I cant believe you are serious, mate. If you think burying your son and getting heckled in the process has ANYTHING to do with pride then you are way off track. To me however 11million dollars might as well as been 111million dollars or even 100 000 dollars. Its not going to change how these people think. Or probably how they act either, It certainly wont bring back the dead. But maybe it might deter some other lunatic group from this kind of horrible beaviour.
I still prefer my punishment for these losers. Hospitalization followed by Incarceration. and yes there should be an extra charge for stupidity.

One party applied insult to injury.
One party applied injury to insult.

Are these equal? Choose wisely.

Freedom of speech is a right. But it is not free...there is a price for everything.

Yep - that means non-Christians shouldn't be expected to keep their heads low and turn their cheek when attacked by ... Christians.

cyberpi, it seems that what you're saying is that democracy and a legal system built around judgement by your peers is wrong. In which case, you may indeed find the Iranian system much more to your liking.

TRUE if crucifixion, stoning, imprisonment, or removing $11 million of life from someone is your definition of judgment by peers for the crime of speaking undesired words at an undesired place and time. Jesus spoke undesired words at an undesired place and time and I'd sure hate to be a member of the crowd like yourself claiming that he was justly judged by his peers.

I can tolerate Iran as I tolerated your uncivil judgment of Silas and Niranjan. I denounce retribution over undesired words everywhere, including here. Surely you will learn this someday.

Not wise to attack the administrator of this whole forum, Cyberpi. Not wise at all.

First, he isn't American. Second he is patient (rare for a Brit). Third, you are simply beyond out of line...

At first go, I will get rid of your patronage here, as he directs.

I'm already there, married several times, and enjoy drink (and tobacco) . No tatoos though (never found one I could live with for life).
Also sail the "seven seas"...

I've been around this world, so I'm entitled...

PRIDE? He sued from pride? Many people sue when a loved one dies and then they give all the money to charities. It is about accountability, not pride or cashing in.

Have you ever served in the military Cyberpi? Have you ever seen a young friend shot dead 5 feet from you? Have you ever had to wait while your brain catches up, as you realise they are never getting up again because some stupid bloody politician wants cheap oil????

These young people put their lives on the line everyday for that bloody 'freedom' your country so enjoys and constantly crows about, so I find it absolutely disgusting that you cannot see this is not about pride or freedom of speech but about being able to bury a person that you love more than your own life (ie your child) without some demented twit screaming obsenities at you.

Where is your respect for the people that protect you while you sleep?????

When selfishness is more important than the other...this is what you get.

While I question the relevancy to the thread, I would like to answer each of your questions if you will answer them first. I found your post very interesting but a little bit twisted... the irony here seems to be high.
