Never said it was... I said the right thing to do was write a letter... the content of the letter is none of my concern.

I find it best to not read into things and try to interject my opinion about how someone feels.... an attribute that I wish was shared by all....

"Tommy did it the right way.... once you have excommunicated yourself from the Catholic Church, the best thing to do is write a letter like that and "make it official".

I read it as I see it. I don't expound upon another's points. But I digress...

Re: Leaving the Catholic church

Now Constable, be nice to our new members, I was one a few weeks ago and got a promotion to a Junior Member! Hurray!!! He may have some important messages to deliver to us and we don't want to scare him away You did tell me a few weeks ago to be nice because their are many Catholics viewing, I love them so, as they make up who most are including my direct family (brothers, sisters and parents) and they have some real beautiful people that belong to their membership. I hope they all find salvation. I followed it closley for 40 years.

I also have found that money, power and materialistic gains don't bring pleasure. Only a true devotion to God called Agape does bring peace. Other things bring problems.

In my opinion our worship should be to God, through Jesus and not to government, nation OR religion and thats the whole problem.

It was sort of interesting that I received a response from the largest Catholic Apologetics Department on that letter telling me I was wrong about the priest molestation stuff and they said that all men make mistakes even when the apostle Peter was hypocritical in Antioch. I wrote them back and told them what I thought about the comparison with Peter and molestors and have not heard back.

By the way, what do you do with the Coast Guard? I picture you back in Maryland performing weddings as the Constable and protecting our Coast, sounds like you live kind of an interesting life. blessings tommy

Well, SOGFPP has been around for over a year, and posts rarely, but most often profoundly. So I can't say we were playing "kick the can"...

We do not see eye to eye on much, but there is a respect.

I don't do weddings, but I did recently come back from the Middle East, so that kind of shoots that picture to hell and back.

I'm an engineer (six months I couldn't spell it, now i are one).

It's all good.

Re: Leaving the Catholic church

Hehe... thank you tommy for "protecting" me.

Quahom and I get along just fine... it's been almost a year since I've posted here... (back before you were a Moderator I believe?).... so I wanted to see if you were the same nice person I remembered. .... it's nice to see that "power" did not go to your head. HA!

Peace to all,
Scott
