Sorry Bas,

I did not catch the inference. What Paul said, and what you lived...well, that's a horse of a different color.

hee hee, I am not that old Q. just lived a very full and fast paced life...so fast people cannot understand why I prefer staying home now. I had running in my feet since 7th grade. so i probably sound like an old man. you know what is funny, most of my friends are always older than me or about the same age. 3 wives come and gone...dont ask.
work and home, it almost military.

so far everyone has matched up pretty close to what I expected in the pics.

Dont like to quote myself but I believe I did touch on that issue.

My mother struggled as a single parent for years raising 3 kids working greatest woman in my world I have ever known. 15 yrs ago she met a Godly man and finnally realized what God had intended for a man and woman to share. Sadly he has passed now. My mother is a strong woman of faith and I thank God she was blessed enough to see marraige in the way God intended.
And I know she see's it the same way.
I can relate to this Basstian. My mom was more or less the spiritual leader of the household, since she was a preachers kid, and got us all to church 4 times a week. But dad still had the Word tucked way down deep in his heart.

Lilith is in the Bible, as a desert demon, not the first wife of Adam.

God did not issue payback to woman by making her dominated by man on this earth. In fact, any woman who wants to (in the US anyway), can live her life as she sees fit. She can even find a submissive male if that is her whim.

The original position for sex for all animals with four appendiges seems to be male from behind. In human animals "scientists" have claimed that human breasts increased in size and firmness in the female as a way to get the two human animals to face eachother while sexually bonding (as a means of developing some sort of monogymous relationship), as part of evolution of the species.

All sounds stupid, doesn't it...but it is all on line, or in the local library, or in the news paper, or in court papers, or the law.

I wonder what would have happened if Adam would have simply said, "Yes Lord, I ate the forbidden fruit", instead of attempting to pass blame on Eve.

We probably would not exist.

Yeah Q I agree, just thought i would do a little reality check. People were talking so matter of factly about this, as if they were there when eve sprouted out of adam's side like a spud.

Re: Man superior to woman?

1Cor.11:8For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
11:9Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
11:10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11:11Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
11:12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God. Eccl12:7Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

The church was very powerful in Canada not long ago. And some priests and nuns behave in such a manner that they had compromised for ever God in people's mind.

Nowadays, if a woman complains to the police about her husbund or boyfrind behaviour, well that man founds himself in prison or out of the house right away. The woman keeps the house and the children.

I do not believe a man is superior to a woman. It's more like we are a part of each other. One has something the other needs.

I hope you don't mind if I quote Robert A. Heinlein :"Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea."

btw I belong to the former one.

1 Timothy 2:9-12

9. In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10. But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Re: Man superior to woman?

Interesting that you mention Philip Bandit this gospel is beautiful.

more tampering.......

Romans 16:7: Paul refers to a male apostle, Andronicus, and a female apostle, Junia, as "outstanding among the apostles" (NIV) The Amplified Bible translates this passage as "They are men held in high esteem among the apostles" The Revised Standard Version shows it as "they are men of note among the apostles". The reference to them both being men does not appear in the original Greek text. The word "men" was simply inserted by the translators, apparently because the translators' minds recoiled from the concept of a female apostle. Many translations, including the Amplified Bible, Rheims New Testament, New American Standard Bible, and the New International Version simply picked the letter "s" out of thin air, and converted the original "Junia" (a woman) into "Junias" (a man).

There is a book called “What Paul really said about women' An Apostle's Liberating Views on Equality in Marriage, Leadership, and Love. It states that the real reason that Paul said that a woman should be silent at church and if she has questions, she should ask her husband at home. The reviewer says "I almost fell out of my chair when I realized how many women had been made second-class citizens of he Kingdom Of Heaven because of men’s interpretations of what Paul said.  The Jewish custom was that women had to sit in another room with the children when they had temple services. They were not even allowed to sit in the same room with the men. So they were free to talk out loud and did so. After Jesus came and “SET THE WOMEN FREE,” Paul included ALL the people in the same room.  The women, not being used to this, were talking out loud and asking their husbands questions. Paul was simply telling them to be quite in the services and wait until they got home to ask their husbands questions. Thank God for Jesus and Paul. If Paul could see how men have twisted his words, he would turn over in his grave, so to speak!"

Re: Man superior to woman?

Woman was not taken from Man's head, to be above him, nor from his feet, to be below him, but from his side, to be equal to him. Woman was taken from under man's arm, to be protected by him, and from near his heart, to be loved by him.

Woman is life, and man is the servant of life.(quote)

I really like that and to add to that. Eve was created as a help-mate for Adam. she is his equal. The lords final and Grand Creation!“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

“And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman” (Gen. 2:20–23).

And so Eve became God’s final creation, the grand summation of all of the marvelous work that had gone before.

Notwithstanding this preeminence given the creation of woman, she has so frequently through the ages been relegated to a secondary position. She has been put down. She has been denigrated. She has been enslaved. She has been abused. And yet some few of the greatest characters of scripture have been women of integrity, accomplishment, and faith.

We have Esther, Naomi, and Ruth of the Old Testament. We have Sariah of the Book of Mormon. We have Mary, the very mother of the Redeemer of the world.

She it was who carried the child Jesus into Egypt to save His life from the wrath of Herod. She it was who nurtured Him in His boyhood and young manhood. She stood before Him when His pain-wracked body hung upon the cross on Calvary’s hill. In His suffering He said to her, “Woman, behold thy son!” And to His disciple in a plea that he care for her, He said, “Behold thy mother!” (John 19:26–27).

Crossing through His life we have Mary and Martha, and Mary of Magdala. She it was who came to the tomb that first Easter morning. And to her, a woman, He first appeared as the resurrected Lord. Why is it that even though Jesus placed woman in a position of preeminence, so many men who profess His name fail to do so?

In His grand design, when God first created man, He created a duality of the sexes. The ennobling expression of that duality is found in marriage. One individual is complementary to the other. As Paul stated, “Neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord” (1 Cor. 11:11).

There is no other arrangement that meets the divine purposes of the Almighty. Man and woman are His creations. Their duality is His design. Their complementary relationships and functions are fundamental to His purposes. One is incomplete without the other.
There are some men who, in a spirit of arrogance, think they are superior to women. They do not seem to realize that they would not exist but for the mother who gave them birth. When they assert their superiority they demean her. It has been said, “Man can not degrade woman without himself falling into degradation; he can not elevate her without at the same time elevating himself” (Alexander Walker, in Elbert Hubbard’s Scrap Book [1923], 204).
