Mee,
I don't wish to take one of your many, many trinity threads off topic lol.... So I wished to ask you this question here... I would of used PM but you tend to not bother with them most the time.

Today, the term is applied to groups that follow a living leader who promotes new and unorthodox doctrines and practices.

So cult traditionally meant religion? (and still does btw.) But now, in your opinion it means unorthodox doctinres and practices? Breaking convention or traditions? But if cult means religion in general who says what is unorthodox, another example many things you and the other JW's do is unorthodox to many ANYWAY! The question I wanted to ask... A cult follows a living leader? Is your god dead?

the leader of Jehovahs witnesses is Jesus,(Gods son) and he has immortality in the heavens , and Jehovahs witnesses listen to him , LUKE 9;35
why? because the father of Jesus JEHOVAH ( the ancient of days ) wants us too.
and everything that Jesus taught was what he got from his father .
Jesus said: "I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things." (John 8:28, AV)
and its all in the bible for us to take on board .
and even now Jesus is a reigning king in Gods heavenly kingdom
Daniel 2;44 Daniel 7;13-14 and he is feeding Jehovahs witnesses with lots of good spiritual food at just the right time matthew 24;45-47
we dont need a human leader we have just the right one JESUS
wow fancy giving mee my own thread,

Jehovahs witnesses leader has immortality
but he(Jesus )because of continuing alive forever has his priesthood without any successors.
Consequently he is able also to save completely those who are approaching God through him, because he is always alive to plead for them.

promoting Gods kingdom is enough for mee , its the only way to salvation .
all of those other manmade rulerships are on the way out , so why bother polishing the brass on a sinking ship
i have already put my vote in , this is it DANIEL 2;44
And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite;

There is no secrecy with JEHOVAHS WITNESSES quite the opposite , they make their worship very public even going door to door .
Jehovah’s Witnesses are earnest students of the Bible who take their faith seriously and try openly to live accordingly.
Worldwide, they are well-known as a religious group that ‘seeks peace and pursues it.’ (1 Peter 3:11)
True religion in no way practices secretiveness.
Worshipers of the true God have been instructed not to hide their identity or to obscure their purpose
i am glad to say that Jehovahs witnesses do not hide what they are .
The early disciples of Jesus filled Jerusalem with their teaching. They were out in the open as to their beliefs and activity. The same is true of Jehovah’s Witnesses today.
If it ever crossed your mind that Jehovah’s Witnesses might be a secret cult or sect, that was likely because you knew too little about them.
That must have been the situation with many in the first century.

Re: Mee,
You keep mentioning secrecy? So, your definition of 'cult' is now a group which is secret?

Usually cults conduct their religious activities in secrecy.
Many of these cultic groups actually isolate themselves in communes.
Their devotion to a self-proclaimed human leader is likely to be unconditional and exclusive.
Often these leaders boast of having been divinely chosen or even of being themselves divine in nature.
Cult members often isolate themselves from friends, family, and even society in general. Is that the case with Jehovah’s Witnesses? NO WAY
Nothing like that with Jehovahs witnesses , most people say
OH NO NOT JEHOVAHS WITNESSES AGAIN(when we come a knocking )
