Hey, I asked somebody to post some information in the Christianity section about their views of the Catholic Church. Here is a quick view of what this person believes:
1) why does the people of Catholism bow to a man and treat as Christ if he is not...
2) why does the catholic faith not believe in over 85% of the new testament
3) why does the catholic faith esteem Mary in such High regards and call her "The mother of Heaven" when in fact she herself had to be saved by Jesus...she was just a vessel and someone that happened to be living right and thats why she was choosen... IDOLATRY
4) why does the catholic faith deem it necessary to pray to Dead saints, when the bible CLEARLY states that it is also IDOLATRY
I'm VERY interested in what you would tell him . . .
You're skillful at debating, and so, for me, trying to prove an alternative point to you is like playing that person that's damn good at a video game (like soul caliber or some other fighting game) and who, more often than not, beats me. In the process, however, I get better at the game. I think the forum would not be the same without you, because I feel like I need that skillful element. That is, again, someone skillful at debate and knowledgeable about Christian tradition.
Also, I think the personal attacks on you that I have seen are uncalled for. Just present the evidence and move on.
Hey, Thomas, I just wanted to drop by and say, "thanks for taking the time to reply to my posts in the why do people try to change christianity? thread." It helps me to think critically about what I'm reading. That's why I'm glad you're here on the interfaith forums! I'm taking the time to read more on the Church fathers and on phenomenology, but I'm trying to finish my exams for college this closing semester too, so it'll probably be a good minute before responding to your quote and some other points you mentioned.
