Mexican drug lord makes Forbes' billionaire list

This makes me feel sick. Forbes should be ashamed for including a criminal on its list. This is the worst conflagaration of greed, evil, and gratuitous sensationalism I've seen in a while.

A little honesty never hurt anybody.

Forbes is not a publisher of children's books.

Re: Mexican drug lord makes Forbes' billionaire list

Is it wrong to ue recreational drugs?

Should any of the drugs which are currently illegal be legalised?

Recently, the media draws our attention to the violence and death caused by the war on drugs, and the vast wealth acumulated by the criminals involved. If these drugs were legal I suspect these crime lords would find themselves unemployed.

Furthermore, our governments could use drastically increased tax revenues from these legalised drugs to pay for the care and rehabilitation of anyone who develops what would be called a drug 'problem'

In the last 3 years I embarked on a journey of experimentation with some (most) illegal substances. I did this despite being raised in a moderately conservative family and holding strong anti-drug opinions well into my early 20s.

What changed my mind was watching many of my friends use these drugs and being very surprised to see that they did not lose their jobs, alienate their families and sell all their furniture to get another hit. These were ordinary, upstanding, upper working class / lower middle class proffessional people.

So I decided to try these things for myself and lo and behold, I too managed to avoid becoming an extra on train spotting.

This Mexican drug lord is the new Al Capone. Capone was not created by drink, he was created by prohibition.

I had a similar idea when I was younger and I found that the hysteria over drugs was just that, hype and hysteria.
The problem with drugs is that there is an organized drug cartel with a legal monopoly over all drugs in the continent.
You can see their signs on most streets proudly proclaiming that drugs are sold within.
Most do very little for anyone, other than give one side-effects which are worse than the condition they were taken to alleviate.
Drug prohibition of certain (awareness enhancing) drugs is a symptom of a much bigger problem which has a lot to do with social engineering.
