You know what? For the first time since I've met your aquaintence, I can say with absolute certainty...you are wrong. God and Magog are land and city. They are ancient places (they were ancient when the bible was first penned). The people of that land and city were ruthless warriors. Their decendants are still there. They must rule all, it is in their blood.
Here is how it will happen. The Arabs will coerce Gog and Magog into fighting. Only the Arabs will be devistated by the angry people of Gog. Then they will turn on the land of Israel, only their flanks will be embattled by the 200 million man army, who's government intends to rule the earth. There will be a battle, and in the middle of that battle, something happens, and it is over in one day. Israel will still be intact, but the other countries of the world will be laid low.
Why do I think this? Since every prophecy in the Bible has so far come true, I can't but consider that the final episode in man's life on earth will also come true. It's called the laws of probability, based on past performance. Anything over 60 percent is a good bet...the bible is running at 100 percent so far.
You, Mee are going to be in for a rude awakening, when the 144,000 do not include you or any of your fellow believers. 12,000 virgin males from each of the twelve tribes of Israel will be the enthroned ones. There is a reason for that. They must be pure. They must be virgin. They must be young. They will show the world, where the other eleven tribes disbursed to. It might be your next door neighbor's kid. But it won't be you or me.
At the time of Jesus' coming, all will bend knee and admit "thou art Lord, God".
And there is good news for you though. Jehovah will be there...His name is Jesus.
Anyway, I'm done with the soap box dissertation.

Nix nix river styx. The world never had a nuclear bomb before 60 years ago. There are five nations (that we know of) that can lay this entire planet to waste inside of 60 minutes. And no one can stop them (not even the mighty United States of America).

and that didn't stop Paul and the people of Jesus's time believing that his return would be in their lifetime...or every lifetime since. When gun powder was invented it was thought that the carnage was so bad that surely this was it...same for the machine gun...and now we have the nuclear bomb. What was it Oppenhiemer said when asked after the first nuke test, if this was the first time? "Well err... I suppose in our lifetime."

Both are actual quotes...only two of many. (your quote has been repeated lately in relaton to GE foods and GMOs, and also the blessing of utilizing waste nuclear products for cold pasteurization, aka irradiation, oh yay)

That was His intention.. blessed are those that wait for His return
Thats still not addressing the fact that for the first time in history the nation of Israel has the land God promised them... the fact that they are called a nation with NO land for their most of their existance is unheard of.. yet we all know who the Jews are... This is the first time in history that the entire world can witness whats going on in the middle east and will see the prophecies fulfilled.. Daniel predicted that knowledge will increase.. the rate our knowledge increases in enormous.. Transportation will increase.. first time in history that we can cross the world in a day.. wars and rumors of wars... we have horrible crises all over the world constantly... do you realize that an entire generation is being wiped out by AIDs in Africa.. The "Biggest" of everything is happening and increasingly getting worst.. These are all birth pangs and man.. let me tell you when you labor.. those last set of contractions hurt bad..
Time is short.. Its kind of weird but most of the body of Christ right now is feeling it.. like a big breath before that last push..
wil.. dont miss it. You only get one shot at this.. if you dont live for Christ today... you very well might die for Him tomorrow.. the tribulation saints are all martyred... I wish you could feel what I feel when I walk outside and literally feel the groanings of creation and I know the groaning because thats what I feel as I wait for the return of my Lord. Its such a physical and spiritual yearning.. my soul awaits Him. Its literally the feeling when your in love and you just want to be with that person... I just want to be with my Jesus.
I want everyone to feel this.. its a crescendo of emotion.. the more I anticipate the more I yearn for Him..
I love the Song of Solomon because its totally how I feel... I desire Him with all my being.. My Savior... My Lord.
He is wonderful................

Re: Modern day Gog and Magog
During the upcoming great tribulation, culminating in Armageddon, Christ will war against all evil. But there will be no need for his followers to fight, even as this was unnecessary for the inhabitants of the two-tribe kingdom of Judah thousands of years ago. The battle belonged to Jehovah, and he gave the victory.
It was exactly as Jehovah had foretold: "You will not need to fight." (2 Chronicles 20:17) This sets the pattern for Christians to follow when Jesus Christ moves in "to complete his conquest." Meanwhile, they continue to fight evil, not with carnal weapons, but with spiritual ones. They thereby "keep conquering the evil with the good."—Romans 6:13; 12:17-21; 13:12; 2 Corinthians 10:3-5. we really are liiving in thrilling times.
What will servants of God be expected to do once they come under attack? Again, the reaction of God’s typical nation in the days of Jehoshaphat sets the pattern. Note that its citizens were commanded to do three things: (1) take their position, (2) stand still, and (3) see the salvation of Jehovah.
2 Chronicles 20:17.

Re: Modern day Gog and Magog
Hi everybody. Salam and love form me.
Quran has also mentioned about Gog and Magog in two chapters, I give hereunder the account given in Chapter 18: Al-Kahf; I think it would be of interest to the members, and for special interest for those who think that Quran just copied from OTBible.
The Holy Quran : Chapter 18: Al-Kahf
[18:84] And they ask thee concerning Dhu'l Qarnain. Say, 'I will recite to you something of his account.'
[18:85] We established him in the earth and gave him the means to achieve everything.
[18:86] The he followed a certain way.
[18:87] Until when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting as if in a pool of murky water, and near it he found a people. We said, 'O Dhu'l Qarnain, you may punish them, or treat them with kindness.'
[18:88] He said, 'As for him who does wrong, we shall certainly punish him; then shall he be brought back to his Lord, who will punish him with a dreadful punishment;
[18:89] 'But as for him who believes and act righteously, he will have a good reward with his Lord, and We too shall speak to him easy words of Our command.'
[18:90] Then indeed he followed another way.
[18:91] Until he reached the rising-place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had made no shelter against it.
[18:92] Thus indeed it was. Verily, We had full knowledge of all that he had with him.
[18:93] Then he followed another way.
[18:94] Until when he reached the open place between the two mountain mountains, he found, beneath them a people who could scarcely understand a word of what he said.
[18:95] They said, 'O Dhu'l Qarnain, verily, Gog and Magog are creating disorder in the earth; shall we then pay tribute on condition that thou set up a barrier between us and them?'
[18:96] He replied, 'The power with which my Lord has endowed me about this is better than the resources of my enemies but you may help me with strength of labourers, I will set up a rampart between you and them;
[18:97] 'Bring me blocks of iron.' They did so till, when he had filled up the space between the two mountains sides, he said, 'Now blow with your bellows.' They blew till, when he had made it red as fire, he said, 'Bring me molten copper that I may pour it thereon.'
[18:98] So they (Gog and Magog) were not able to scale it, nor were they able to dig through it.
[18:99] Thereupon he said, 'This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord shall come to pass, He will break it into pieces. And the promise of my Lord is certainly true.'
[18:100] And on that day We shall leave some of them to surge against others, and the trumpet will be blown. Then shall We gather them all together.
[18:101] And on that day We shall present Hell, face to face, to the disbelievers
[18:102] Whose eyes were under a veil, not heeding My reminder and they could not even afford to hear.
[18:103] Do the disbelievers think that they can take My servants as protectors instead of ME? Surely, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers.
[18:104] Say, 'Shall We tell you of those who are the greatest losers in respect of their works.'
[18:105]'Those whose labour is all lost in pursuit of the life of this world, and yet they imagine that they are doing good works.'
[18:106] Those are they who deny the Signs of their Lord and the meeting with Him. So their works are vain, and on the Day of Resurrection We shall give them no weight.
[18:107] That is their reward - Hell; because they disbelieved, and made a jest of My Signs and My Messengers.
[18:108] Surely, those who believe and act righteously, will have Gardens of Paradise for an abode,
[18:109] Wherein they will abide; having no desire to be removed therefrom.
[18:110] Say, 'If every ocean become ink for the words of my Lord, surely, the ocean would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even though We brought the like thereof as further help.'
[18:111] Say, I am but a man like yourselves; but it is revealed to me that your God is One God. So let him who hopes to meet his Lord, do good deeds, and let him join no one in the worship of his Lord.

[quote=inhumility;85057]'
[18:105]'Those whose labour is all lost in pursuit of the life of this world, and yet they imagine that they are doing good works.' ............. Hi inhumility ....... this is so true ,the rulers of this world do not want to give up their rulership , the kings of the earth take their stand against Jehovah and against his annointed one Jesus christ. but it will be to no prevail because they will not stand in the day of Jehovahs anger.
human rulers were put on notice to submit to God’s chosen Ruler. But they have refused to do so, as was foretold: "The kings of earth take their stand and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one, saying: ‘Let us tear their bands apart and cast their cords away from us!’" (Psalm 2:1-3) Resistance to Kingdom rule will clearly reach its climax during the attack by Gog of Magog.
