Re: Moo!
No. All animals humans have taken in should be treated with the same degree of respect and care.

Re: Moo!
Which in this case, means killing it.
Or do you think we shouldn't slaughter animals who have TB at all?
Edit - I do agree that we should treat all animals with respect though.

Re: Moo!
... or not killing it depending on whether the rules is other animals or this particular cow. The way I phrased my response was intended to imply that the care this animal has received is generally a better ruler, and not the way animals are frequently treated in factory farms and the like.
I think in this case, if the animal really does have tb and it's not just something it's at a low risk for it should be slaughtered and that in the situation of an animal who does not have tb, it should be shown the same degree of care as this cow normally is.

Re: Moo!
I agree with you there. Though I think if the group wanted to pay for extra testing to make certain whether it had/didn't have TB it should be allowed a 'stay of execution' for that purpose.

Re: Moo!
I would like a pair of boots made from a sacred cow. I could use them for stepping in sacred cow pies!

Do you mean that it was meant to die as in, its intended purpose as a cow is to be food for humans and we might as well hurry and slaughter it, or that, like humans and all other life on the planet it will eventually die?

sorry, i cannot tell if you are joking. if you are joking then here is my response: i don't own cows, dude. i love to eat them. they make great burgers out of them and if you are from texas, they make kickass "fajitas" with tortillas de arina con frijoles y arroz. now, if you are serious, here is my other response: laterz.

Re: Moo!
I'm sorry my friends. I simply have no respect for animals other than humans. I think it was the way I was brought up. I blame me parents for teaching me badly.
Flies, spiders and moths get the worst treatment. When I see one, I like to get rid of it as soon as possible, but squashing it. I don't want it getting my books dirty.
For me personally, human dignity is more important than that of animals, because, you know, animals don't have dignity......they're subhuman as in......er......you know......they're not human.
Pets are different. Pets have sentimental value.
Farm animals have sentimental value too.......as the food we eat.....
God created the other animals to serve us human animals. The difference between us and the other animals is that we have a soul. The others don't. Cats and dogs don't go to heaven even if they're our pets.
We're the gods of the earth, a degree higher than the other animals. We rule. We pet them for our own pleasure. We feed them. We look after them. Then we eat them. That's the pecking order.

And there is the problem with the mere, insignificant human.... It -thinks- it is something special, something better, something higher than all the other animals around it.. Heh, gotta laugh.... It is the animal I dislike the most.

Well said 17th. If you are only able to show compassion to human animals, then that's a bit lame in my book. What's the difference between the soul in the dog who is your pet and the soul in the cows that you take milk from and slaughter? Does anyone really think there is one?
Does a father not respect the youngest child just as much as the elder?
