Cool Namaste all

i thought that, perhaps, i should take a moment and introduce myself.

what would you like to know?

hmm...

well... let's seeeeee...

i was born and raised in North Africa, Libya to be exact. moved to the states permanently when i was 14, Texas, around Houston.. for those that know, The Woodlands.

i was a born again Christian back in those days.. i went to a Christian youth camp when i was 16 and was saved during that retreat. to be honest, the spiritual experience was beyond description, however, the paradigm of Christianity was the one in which i was supposed to interpet the experience, thus reinforcing my "christian" experience.

as i grew older and more mature in my spiritual experiences, i realized that the experience, in and of itself, simply was. it didn't always appear "christian" to me and, predicated on that, i began to explore the other world montheistic traditions.

after exhausting my search there (though i am sure i could have been more diligent) i started to seek spiritual experience regardless of the paradigm in which it was presented.

this wandering eventually led me to the Tao Te Ching.. and eveything changed from then on

today, when i am forced to label myself, i call myself a Buddhist... though, in all honesty, my practice is a mix of both Taoist and Buddhist praxis. a particular school of Taoism called Complete Reality (Northern) is what i practice along with a particular school of Vajrayana Buddhism, Nyingma (Ancient School) of Tibetan Buddhism.

so.. that's me in a nutshell....

hobby wise... i enjoy computer gaming and board gaming (i mean really... pc's don't replace pen and paper.. they just make it easier to play an RPG by yourself), working in the yard and fixing up my old little house.

Nice to have some background.....welcome!
As a recent apprentice to Buddhist meditation practice while still a Christian, I'm sure I will value your insights.
Thanks for sharing.
