This is really the point I was addressing, although I thank you for the info concerning bruise/crush/wound/strike, I was not aware of these translations.
In the Interlinear, Pe****ta, and 1611 KJV, there is the distinction,
It, implying the child/offspring/seed, not the woman herself, and at least in Protestant teaching this is considered the earliest promise of the coming of Messiah.
