Jesus followers are no part of this system of things , even though we are in the system of things . we should be no part of the world and its ways. we should listen to Jesus
You just re-enforced my point (as well as Path and Truthseeker's). Man rules the earth, but is not to be in the "world". We are by neccessity of the world (the way or reality of existence the majority lives day to day), but are not to be in it (influenced by or giving into the way the majority lives day to day).

Our world requires us to walk a different path, or march to the beat of drum only we can hear. At first to the rest of the world we seem to be marching out of step, but after awhile the bright ones realize we are keeping more perfect cadence then they are (theirs is a route step, only good for crossing weak bridges). Ours is a solid step in unison and in formation, such a step that literally brought down the walls of Jericho without firing a shot.

Reminds me of a bootcamp cadence I heard and belted out 26 years ago, but never forgot:

"Delayed cadence, ready, count! ONE! give it just a little bit louder,
TWO, and just a little bit louder, THREE, how 'bout a little bit louder FOUR, man you gotta get a bit louder, ONE, louder, TWO, a bit louder, THREE, can't hear you, FOUR, I want louder, ONE TWO THREE FOUR, ONE TWO,, THREE FOUR!

Hydi Hydi Hydi Ho, Hydi Hydi Hydi hee, that's a Hydi Hydi hodee, what a crazy song...

...Dress it up and cover down, forty inches all around
keep your piece and hold your ground, what a crazy song...

...Pick your rate and choose your fate, whatever you choose will be just great, defend your ship and cover you mate, what a crazy song...

Momma Momma look at me, I'm as squared as I can be,
not like the world's way, loose and free, what a crazy song...

Eternal Father Lord of Hosts watch o'er the men that guard our coasts,
we give our all to save the most, what a crazy song..."

yes man is influenced by the ruler of the world satan the devil(1 john 5;19)satan has great power over the goverments of the world, even though they are not aware of it ,but in the end Gods goverment will prevail Daniel 2;44
(Psalm 110:5) Jehovah himself at your right hand Will certainly break kings to pieces on the day of his anger.
(Daniel 2:34) You kept on looking until a stone was cut out not by hands, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and of molded clay and crushed them............... do you not think we are living in thrilling times?
(Romans 10:11) For the Scripture says: "None that rests his faith on him will be disappointed."
(Or, "ashamed.") yes time is marching on in this time of the end.Jesus (presence) in heavenly kingdom power started in 1914 and it is now well along .... and the more thrilling it seems to get.
For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.
