Re: Psychic Phenomena poll 1
I said no. I'd like to qualify that by saying that I think that the natural processes that make up objective reality trend in certain very subtle ways. One can be tuned in to watch subliminally for indicators that otherwise random seeming events are trending subtly and slightly toward a minuscule increase in probability without being consciously aware of why one choice mysteriously appeals more than another, or suddenly makes it's way to the fore of one's consciousness. This experience can feel very much like precognition, and very often takes on mystical feel.

Re: Psychic Phenomena poll 1
I think there is something to psychic phenomena, but I don't have it. Plus, I think many people who say they do...don't. But some do.

Though the first 4 may be formalised divination techniques they are acceptable if you use them yourself rather have them done for you by someone else.

Re: Psychic Phenomena poll 1
I think everyone has certain abilities that are thought of as psychic, but not everyone develops them, and just like any other ability, some are born better than others.
I don't think it's tapping into supernaturals as much as tapping into the synchronicity of the universe, a sensitivity to other beings (especially sentient beings), and to the overal tapestry of reality. After all, it is our perceptions that make us stuck in a particular time and state of consciousness-- for example, science demonstrates that time does not exist as we experience it.
All that said, I've experienced many "psychic" phenomena off and on since I was a child. I've never bothered to hone any of them, partly due to a lack of time and partly to a lack of discipline (and partly because sometimes they scare me, to be honest).
I don't find Tarot card (or Oracle deck) reading to be slightest in the least, though I do it on occasion. Why? I don't think it's predicting anything. The point (at least to me) is to engage with symbolism and reveal stuff floating around in my subconscious, working it into my awareness. It isn't about predicting the future or something like that.
I'd add to the list as possible other options (off the top of my head):
Empathy (as in, you really feel others' feelings, not just acting sympathetically)
Energy work/healing touch
Mediumship (connecting to the dead)
Seeing auras (though there's more to it than just seeing them, it seems, since people with migrains sometimes see auras but get no information out of it)
Channeling or communicating with spirits (non-dead spirit entities)
Retrocognition (people who can go to or focus on a place and see what happened in the past, without any research)
There are probably more that I am forgetting.
The stuff I do/experience is not that exciting to me, though I've had a few "WOW" kind of moments. I know people personally who are much more honed, consistent, and do amazing stuff with it.
I would stress, though, that I really do think this is just supramundane ways of interacting with the universe. I don't think it's that special, but rather that most kids are trained out of any ability they did have at a very young age.

Re: Psychic Phenomena poll 1
My wife is a physical empath-that is she will find her body sensations will mimic those of someone she is close to who is hurting some distance away without any knowledge on her part of their condition at the time. She's also pretty darn intuitive. earl

You know I could have written that myself 2 or 3 years ago, though not as well as you write it. But my thoughts echoed most of what you wrote. They still do, but not been going down that track lately. There are a few of my early posts here that touch heavily on that area of thought. But since then I have sort of measured it against the power of mundane reality and found it virtually stomped into the ground. And in large part I blame religion Most people have as part of their theo-cultural bagage a witchcraft like taboo against self exploration. I have walked that walk and found stuff I cannot explain without postulating a space/time we are able to access to some very limited degree. I see it as proof of a functioning quantum field, or foam that connects every molecule in the universe. Some might call that foam God, and as I am not above foaming at the mouth myself, I dont say they are wrong to think that.
