Yes, I'd like thoughts from all belief systems...

Over there in Dondis's 'ideas of heaven' thread @5 proposed that he would be a God and Dondi asked, "By what measure would you say that you would be a God?"

So some of the Christians view G-d as omniscient, omnipotent and OMNIPRESENT. Everywhere in everything. hmmm that includes you and me.

Jesus said I and the Father (actually daddy yes?) are ONE. Part and parcel of the whole trinity debate. But he also said he was a child of G-d and we were children of G-d, and we should be able to do more than he... G-d=Jesus=Us created and creator.

So many thoughts put G-d and Heaven within our hearts, within our souls. Many say 'G-d is in my life'

To what extent is this true in your life.

Now if I may be so bold, I am specifically asking 'Are you G-d? Are you a part of G-d?' and to what extent, not if anything is heretical or blasphemous.

IMO, one of the simplest ways is to perceive God as something akin to "energy with mind" - ie, that energy itself is but a facet of God, and therefore in some small way each of us is a part of God experiencing itself.

That wouldn't make us "gods" per se, but instead affirm a Divine Connection that we all have inherently, even if we don't necessarily consider it.

IMO God is far more than just energy, though - both inherent to the universe, yet also supercedes it on every level of infinite existence.

i dont think i am God nor will ever be. not even close to being the Creator. i think it is possible to strive to be more like God.

i remember when Jesus said he was Son of God & the jews took that as meaning God Himself. so they saw it as blaspheme & sought to kill him. after that Jesus says something like- know ye not that ye are gods.
i do not view that in the same light with buddha & new age doctrines where everything is 'self' - conscience, ego & super ego...there is way more to it.
i think what Jesus was doing was, trying to point out the spirit within us is that thing that makes us like God as in (gods- little g), because like man, God is a spirit.

now, i dont think God turned into a man, but i respect all of those who do & i dont see any man turning into God...BUT i see Jesus is- AS God. he (Jesus) is the only man i view that way because God gave Him the position of authority & power. & i know in another place it speaks of us seeing him as he is. in another place it speaks of us being like Him (we shall behold Him) though i see this as future tense in the resurrection & only in glimpses & microscopic abilities, through a glass darkly now.

so, even Jesus gave the glory back to God when he said- i of mine own self do nothing but it was the father in him that does the works. (paraphrased)

i would say it is possible to be 'LIKE' God, if we try to become more like Jesus. Jesus is the only one who could claim being equal with God & i see Jesus as God in purpose & image & many other things-i dont see any of us being able to do that in that degree & expectation.
i would say we are like God according to attributes & that we are created in His image & that we are a part of God when we become filled with the Holy Ghost & that makes us a real child of God or you could say offspring in the spiritual sense.

i see us all having the potential in spirit to manifest such in the flesh, but we are not so willing & always able because the flesh is weak & gets in the way. though it is certainly possible to be in heavenly places while in the flesh- there is no doubt about that.

Maybe it is a oversimplification to say, "you are what you eat".

I think it is proper to rever that which is greater than me, which is God. As I am made in His likeness I will say that I am He as He dwells in me. The light that shines in me is Him. John 1:1-14 says quite a bit and I think that anybody who believes can be that as well.

Now, it isn't easy to believe. And it isn't easy to notice the difference between that which ties us to the physical realm and keeps us from reaching farther into the spiritual realm; but I believe that Jesus knew the difference quite well and released the things which tied him to the physical realm. As Jesus continued to do so, the light of God shone more and most brightly in him. Today's man can do this, but it's increasingly difficult as we continue to strive after physical comforts. It entices us through media, leading us to believe that we are behind in the human experience if we aren't up on the latest technology or finest vain. We are led to believe that our increase in physical comfort is a blessing, but when we strive after it, it becomes a part of 'the lie'. Anyway, when the light of God becomes brighter and brighter in me and in you, it tends to shine upon others and force others to see and we all, somehow, become enlightened. Maybe that is what makes us gods. That very light, that is the Ultimate Creator, in each of us that lets the light shine - you almost can't help but to bow to that which is greater than you alone.

I can imagine all those that traveled prior to Jesus...and those around him when he discussed unconditional love...'yeah, that was easy years ago, but we can't do that today'

lol on we are what we eat....makes me mostly a fruit, vegetable or nut... (me thinks I may have willingly set meself up...)
