Reconcling Christianity and Islam ?
Reconciling Christianity and Islam ?
Can it be done ?
Jesus Said
Quote:
John 14:6 (New International Version)
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

So where does Mohammad fit into this ?
as far as I can see Mohamed does not fit into this because Mohammad was not a prophet of God.
What are peoples thoughts on this ?

No. If yo understand what the Koran (word of God) actually says Islam accepts no place for anything but Islam. Muslims are instructed to lie about that till it is in a position of overwhelming dominance, but it remains true.

No. But if he/she is interested in discussions full of simpleminded supremacist imagery and intolerant exclusiveness, there's prolly no need to start a new thread for that.

I think he was being sarcastic to point out all the unwarranted criticisms of Islam.

Re: Reconcling Christianity and Islam ?
Abrahamic religions (People of the Book) etymology: Israel: "he that striveth with God"
Islam: "he resigned, he surrendered, he submitted," (to God)
Christian: "the religion of 'the anointed'," (of God) To strive, submit, or anoint? All different approaches. It's best to recognize these differences, and then love one another anyway, imo. (Is that perspective too Christian? see John 13:34-35)

If you truly understood the jurisprudence of the Koran and understood where abrogation is to be applied you would know that the above were superseded and rendered invalid. Yes!! In the Koran 'Allah' can change his mind!!

Namaste GtG,
It doesn't look to me that you are seeking reconciliation.
There are many folks of the Islamic faith that are very accepting of others traditions and even honor 'the people of the book' meaning Jews and Christians. And then there exists Sufi's which are interfaith by nature.
If one sees a need to reconcile, then one will point out those things that stop it. However if one sees that it is already reconciled...

Re: Reconcling Christianity and Islam ?
Christianity: Jesus Christ is God.
Islam: Jesus Christ is not God.
I'd say there's no reconciling that.
