Sectarian Violence in Judaism

I noticed this in another thread from BB and found it to be a bit rose-colored in perspective. But a response belongs here on the Judaism board.

The fact is that haredim have attacked liberal Jews simply for praying at the kotel in mixed minyans, throwing things and shouting really awful stuff. It's something that this article deals with.

i did mention extreme haredi things, which i am all too aware of (the recent fist-fights over the satmar succession are a case in point) but the fact is that it's quite simply not in the same league as the way the different sects of muslims seem to relate to each other. i don't think you can equate the two without giving insults and murder moral equivalence. that was the point and i mentioned it in the interests of fairness. i don't see much evidence of fairness from the other camp.
