Suicide live on TV: sensitive or stunt?

Motor neurone disease sufferer Craig Ewert, 59, from Harrogate, died in Switzerland, having been helped by the controversial charity Dignitas. His assisted suicide will be shown on a Sky TV documentary tonight as he drinks a sedative cocktail then turns off his ventilator with his teeth.

Critics have branded the doc. a "reality TV stunt", showing how far programme makers will go to in the face of falling figures.

Hi Thomas,
Maybe the world needs a little de-sensitivity training in this area or would that be programing. The networks are more that happy to oblige. Anything for a dollar.

I wanted to watch this show, turned it on, and found it to be so boring I switched off, so didn't get to see him "pop his clogs"... I reckon many other sensationalists did the same- turned over, bored... I do not think this broadcast was approached in a sensationalist manner...
