Survival of the Sickest: Why We Need Disease

Anyone read this yet or seen the interviews? Opinions?

(I saw the interview on The Today Show.) Interesting.

Here's a couple of links--haven't read all through them yet, but just for info:

Well what don't kill yah makes you stronger

You have all these hygine freaks and all these people that put their heating up 500% hotter than it is outside lol.... and you catch illness and cold and ooh I ate a bit of mud my tummy hurts.... lol... I think yes, you need a certain lack of "protection" so your body can build up its defense and stregnthen agaisn't certain attacks... Being a health freak and so on isn't good when you do get that illness ;/ my 2 dimes.

Re: Survival of the Sickest: Why We Need Disease

Thanks, Angel, for the response.

I guess the main reason the interview caught my attention is because I have seen the effects of hemochromotosis up close. A dear family member of mine suffered from it and died from its effects in 1995. But in 1995, it was still considered so rare and it was still such a mystery that the doctors were hesitant to list it as the cause of death, even though I know that they really thought it was.

Anyway, here are some more specific links--(hope this works, and I apologize if the video link plays a commercial first!)
