I agree that conversion is wrong for any faith.. Above all things if you can't be devoted to the religion you were born into or once accepted then you will never devote yourself to anything. All paths lead to God friend, Islam is third largest religion in the world, does this mean everyone else will go to hell?

Salaamu Alyckum

Postmaster , Islam is the second largest religion of the world ,and Muslims didn't say that every non Muslim will go to hell , because only Allah know about his creations and know what people think inside themselves . and our holy book "Al Quraan" answerd your question :

Here, from the Qur'an itself, which we have faith was literally dictated by God, through the angel Gabriel, to Muhammad: "Those who believe in the Qur'an. Those who follow the Jewish Scriptures, and the Sabians and the Christians-- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." (5.69)We accept Jews and Christians as believers and accept that there are hanifs: legitimate monotheists outside of a tradition.

"We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and the revelation given to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) the prophets from their Lord: We make no distinction between one and another of them, and to Him we are submitters."(2:136)

In an Islamic state the legal dictum about the People of the Book is that "they have our rights and owe our duties." They are equally eligible for social security and other benefits the state provides. Muslims were warned against acts of bigotry or prejudice towards the People of the Book, and Prophet Muhammad himself said, "Whoever hurts a person from the People of the Book, it will be as though he hurt me personally.

Tell me how many Christians doesn't believe that Islam is a heaven religion and Mohameed is a prophet sent from Allah ??????

Regardless of what one believes, he or she is required to respect your views. You sound like you're trying to win over converts instead of promoting tolerance. There is just as much bigotry in existance among followers of other religious paths as well-regardless of what their faith might officially dictate. These reactions are due to human beings not to the religion. I think there is no dispute in that matter.

So why, why is this even being made an issue?

Postmaster,if you read the verses of Al Quraan I mentioned above ,you will see the right view of Islam regarding Christianity .Only Allah know what each individual of Christians or Muslims believe ,Islam just want to post message that Christianity and Islam have the same path ( The path of Allah ),and Christianity's enemies who wanted to destroy his noble message in his time ,,deviated it after his death .
Just Allah know the truth ...............
If people here ,want to stop talking about this subject ,No problem as all like.

Thanks to all whom replied to this thread

Maybe, maybe not. If Muhammad was the chosen prophet by God, how come Islam is only second popular religion in the world? I'm not bragging about Christianity here, I'm just trying to show that there is pot luck involved in which religion gains more conversions and that westerners have always dominated. If Muhammad was really the chosen one, he must have done a bad job or God wasn't on his side? The deviating Christians got there way, so why was Muhammad sent? Yes Christians have dominated and probably suppressed the Islam religion but it really has been swinging both ways. Islamic Arabs even had Spain at one point and charged an extra tax to all Christians and made there lives a lot harder in many ways. People are people and Christians and Muslims are both people. But the message of Christ has dominated this world and as it looks it always will, maybe it’s because the message is divine or maybe it’s because the Western people made it like this with there deviation, anyway you look at it, Muhammad's word isn't the most accepted. Did he fail, or is God not on his side?

Re: the earlier Jews and Christians recognize prophet Muhammad and expect his coming

I never said it was... I'm in fact not saying anything, I'm leaving it down to people what to think. But even for myself I don't even know the answer to what I say all I'm doing is pointing out conclusions. Muhammad was chosen by God to bring the word of god to the world and bring peace and save the people (Islamic teachings), yet the most people in this world believe in Jesus's word.. There for Muhammad was not what he said he was he didn't fulfil his own prophesise or he failed. Do I make sense? he can't have been chosen by God because God sent him to put out his word, so this mean even God failed! Is deviatation (Evil) greater then God that sent Muhammid? Answer the question friend please. I'm not saying its true but its one of my many many conclusions and the reason I have thrown this conclusion out is because of what friend said.

Personally I believe Islam is a beautiful and peaceful religion and I only wished more religions were like Islam, I share one universal love for all people there is no wrong and there no right. We are all from Adam and eve and that is something that all 3 religions agree on, we all ate the apple and we have all been cursed, there is a very truthful meaning to that fundamental story, it is one of the most significant stories in my life because even though its so elaborate it is so mean full at the same time and all agree..(Judaism, Christianity and Islam).

Arguments such as the one started by the original post (of which I have seen many posted on all different websites) remind me very much of a misguided character in the film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". The Greek father insists on giving all words a greek origin, including Kimono!

one of my favorite lines from that movie is when he's talking about the future son-in-law and says (paraphrased) "when your people were still walking on their knuckles, my people were inventing philosophy."

which i found to be very funny... on several levels

Asalamu Alaekum Wa Rahmatuallah Wa Barakahtu

Muhammad (SAW) is prophesised in the Holy Bible. He is directly mentioned in the Aramaic Bible (The original language and Bible of Jesus (May Allah Be Pleased With Him))

First of all Al Qur'an mentions that Muhammad (SAW) is mentioned in the Gospel (bible) and Torah.

"Those who follow the apostle the unlettered prophet (prophet Muhammad - p.b.u.h) whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures); in the law (Torah) and the Gospel" (Qur'an 7:157)

"And when Jesus son of Mary said: O Children of Israel! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who cometh after me, whose name is Ahmad (the Praised One)." (Qur'an 61:6)

Finaly i promised that i will find you where in the Aramaic Bible Muhammad is mentioned:

so now if you refer to Song of Solomon in Hebrew scripture, the name 'Muhammad' is mention here, Song of Solomon 5:16, it looks like this:

"Hikow mamtaqiym wkulow mahamadiym zeh dowdiy wzeh ree`iy bnowt yruushaalaaim."

Embrace Islam you shall be saved

Re: the earlier Jews and Christians recognize prophet Muhammad and expect his coming

pardon me, saliman, but how is the name "muhammad" spelt in arabic? the three-letter root has a direct bearing on whether the word mem-het-mem-dalet is an equivalent or not. otherwise it's a different word entirely.

quite apart from this, if you know this text at all well, you ought to be aware that the male Beloved is not a prophet, but a metaphor for G!D. moreover, this is not a noun, but an adjective - and a plural one, moreover. so it's hard to see how this could be a "reference to muhammad", with all respect to him.

and, incidentally, your tone (and signature) is not appropriate for this board. read the code of conduct (http://www.comparative-religion.com/...of-conduct.php) and moderate yourself, lest ye be moderated.

i'm not quite sure why you consider it necessary or virtuous to remain in the religion of your birth. many people are devoted to God and to searching for the truth....not to a specific religion. remaining within the religious group of your birth maybe starts to make sense in the light of pluralistic views....but many religions (at least at face value) are exclusive not inclusive....a lot of people need to "go round the block a few times" before they begin to understand pluralism.
