Re: The Gallery...
Orange Sculpture Review:
You can see from Pathless' latest offering to the modern art world a distinct shift from his earlier violet series. Ironically this shift in colour use has found his largest and most receptive public ever.
In his new series, the artist stands apart from both art's deadening history and modernity's numbing present. At the same time, the artist also aspires to produce something that rivals, colors, and ultimately enters everyday life. Art functions both as critique and as play. It also makes good eating if you get peckish.
Pathless once again tries to pack all the activity and insight of a lifetime into his art. By doing so, he humbly asks one to consider the limitations of a lifetime's enterprise.
(I stole some bits from amodern art review site now which bits were mine?).

Re: The Gallery...
Pathless...Hey Mon, it kinda reminds me of a friend that I had back in the day. One particularly gloomy and dark day we rolled some newspaper fatties and he proceeded to blow most of that fine herbal remedy himself.
Needless to say we alone, at that moment, had acquired the ability to light up the world around us. He became so well lit he started to fragment and disintegrate in front of my eyes.
Then I fell asleep and when I awoke it was a dark and gloomy day again. Except that my friend and I picked up the frags and pieces, cooked them up, and made a couple of excellent pumpkin pies to slake our munchieness y'know.
Your work evokes so many meaningful memories in us all.
Have a nice day and a better one tomorrow.
And keep that good stuff comin' bro.
flow....

Re: The Gallery...
No idea who the model is, in this one (I wouldn't mind meeting her to get some more images for work heh.) lol... I kind of stole her face but, I did make her look very nice And before anyone says it... YES I am milking the "random chaos scribble effect" for every penny!

Re: The Gallery...
Oooo, I love it! How did I miss this thread all this time? So much fun! Lovely stuff, all... and I love the orange sculpture!!!
I've tried out most media (watercolor, acrylic, etc.) but am mostly fond of black and white pen and ink. I'm now starting to work on black, white and red. I'm a chronic doodler; the doodles I like better (typically stuff that come out of working on poetry with the same concept) become more... purposeful doodles. LOL
Here's one I did a while back; had a short poem with it...
And then this was my first concept for my first tattoo...
Here's what I altered it to be after talking with the tattoo artist. This was right after I got it, so I'm a little red, but I really love it. Not sure what I'll get next; I'm thinking about wings.
That's all I have digitized at this point. Most of my stuff I've given away over the years.
Not as colorful as the stuff you all have, but it seems I try out color and always end up coming back to simple black and white and sketches. Maybe it's my love affair with calligraphy.
Figured I'd add a photoshop one, since 17th is into that. I don't do the photography or photoshop, but my husband does. He took the photo in my avatar and then did this with it. I liked how it turned out, but when I tried making it into an avatar it turned into a blob (too small). LOL He does all kinds of neat things with photography- like turning people into ghost images and stuff through messing with the exposure.
Photoshop is so much fun, but I have no patience with technical stuff. It's very handy though. I was contemplating a Bettie Page haircut and he was able to photoshop my face on her head and hair. Makes it easy to see what you'll look like!

Re: The Gallery...
I told my husband I posted the photoshop thing and he laughed and told me that took about three minutes and wasn't all that great. What can I say? I am not technical so it looked complicated to me!

Time has nothing to do with it.... You could spend eternity on something that is of no skill.... I like the face hidden down the bottom, nice touch... 3 minutes, 3 days, 3 years.... No difference, it is still Good. Sometimes, the longer you dwell on something and change this, change that, add this, oh remove that... You end up with something that is worse than when you had originally finished... There is no official time limit for a work of art... Once you are happy with what you have.... Drop the pen/brush/mouse/whatever.
