Because of its importance, Jesus counseled his followers: "Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom." (Matt. 6:10, 33) Jehovah’s Witnesses in modern times have given abundant evidence that they endeavor to heed that counsel.
No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. YOU cannot slave for God and for Riches.
"On this account I say to YOU: Stop being anxious about YOUR souls as to what YOU will eat or what YOU will drink, or about YOUR bodies as to what YOU will wear. Does not the soul mean more than food and the body than clothing? Observe intently the birds of heaven, because they do not sow seed or reap or gather into storehouses; still YOUR heavenly Father feeds them. Are YOU not worth more than they are? Who of YOU by being anxious can add one cubit to his life span? Also, on the matter of clothing, why are YOU anxious? Take a lesson from the lilies of the field, how they are growing; they do not toil, nor do they spin; but I say to YOU that not even Sol´o·mon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these. If, now, God thus clothes the vegetation of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much rather clothe YOU, YOU with little faith? So never be anxious and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or, ‘What are we to drink?’ or, ‘What are we to put on?’ For all these are the things the nations are eagerly pursuing. For YOUR heavenly Father knows YOU need all these things.
"Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to YOU. So, never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Sufficient for each day is its own badness.
matthew 6;24-33
yes, as Jesus mentioned seeking the kingdom and its righteousness is the way to go , and in this time period promoting the kingdom is what his followers should give priority, matthew 24;14 matthew 28;19-20 along with the fruits of righteousness
striving for riches leads nowhere , but doing the will of God leads to great blessings

Yup, or at a local bookstore. I'm partial to reading things in books or otherwise printed on a page, rather than online. Sitting in front of a computer for long stretches of time, trying to read while the cpu is humming and warbling, stresses me out and makes me a little crazy.

Already crazy, so ...
But yeah, I like being able to sit back, relax, and enjoy what I am reading. Can't hardly do this on-line, so printed pages in a book is I.D.E.A.L.

Re: The Kingdom
I've been trying to find a video to this song for months, and have finally found one. wOOt wOOt!! It's a wonderful song, and a very good video - please watch, o.k?
Heaven's Here on Earth YouTube - Heaven's Here On Earth - Tracy Chapman
Lyrics:
We are the spirit the collective conscience
We create the pain and the suffering and the beauty in this world
Heavens here on earth
In our faith in humankind
In our respect for what is earthly
In our unfaltering belief in peace and love and understanding
Ive seen and met angels wearing the disguise
Of ordinary people leading ordinary lives
Filled with love, compassion, forgiveness and sacrifice
Heavens in our hearts
In our faith in humankind
In our respect for what is earthly
In our unfaltering belief in peace and love and understanding
Look around
Believe in what you see
The kingdom is at hand
The promised land is at your feet
We can and will become what we aspire to be
If heavens here on earth
If we have faith in humankind
And respect for what is earthly
And an unfaltering belief that truth is divinity
And heavens here on earth
Ive seen spirits
Ive met angels
Ive touched creations beautiful and wondrous
Ive been places where I question all I think I know
But I believe, I believe, I believe this could be heaven
We are born inside the gates with the power to create life
And to take it away
The world is our temple
The world is our church
Heavens here on earth
If we have faith in humankind
And respect for what is earthly
And an unfaltering belief
In peace and love and understanding
This could be heaven here on earth
Heavens in our heart

Re: The Kingdom
what is Gods kingdom?
Gods kingdom is a goverment that will rule the whole earth.
Jesus said....You must pray , then, this way.....Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place,as in heaven, also upon the earth.
matthew 6;9,10,Daniel 2;44

Re: The Kingdom
DANIEL 2;44 Gods heavenly kingdom is now well established and it was born in 1914 . and Jesus is now a reigning king DANIEL 7;13-14
Goverment by God is the only real solution to the problems of mankind
The problems that need to be resolved require power, abilities, and qualities that no humans possess.
God can free mankind from the influence of the Devil and his demons, and He has promised to do so, but no human can.
God has made provision to do what medical science could never accomplish—remove sin, thus ending sickness and death and making it possible for people to be the kind of persons that they really want to be.
The Creator has the needed knowledge (of the earth and of all life processes) to solve the problems of food production and to prevent dangerous pollution, but human efforts often create more problems.
God’s Word is already transforming lives so that those who respond to its leading become kind, loving persons with high morals, a society of persons who refuse to take up arms against their fellowman and who live in genuine peace and brotherhood although they are from all nations, races, and language groups.
and its very good

Re: The Kingdom
God’s Kingdom—Are You Getting the Sense of It?
"As for the one sown upon the fine soil, this is the one hearing the word and getting the sense of it."—MATTHEW 13:23.

Re: The Kingdom
TheGovernment That Will Bring Paradise
When Jesus was on earth, he told his followers to pray for God’s Kingdom:
"Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth." (Matthew 6:9, 10)
He also spoke constantly about "the good news of the kingdom." (Matthew 4:23)
In fact, he spoke more about the Kingdom than he did about anything else.
Why? Because the Kingdom is the instrument that God will use to solve the problems that make life so difficult today.
By means of the Kingdom, God will soon put an end to wars, hunger, disease, and crime, and he will bring about unity and peace.

"As you believe, so it shall be". Pretty cut and dry from Jesus' POV, don't you think?

Re: The Kingdom
neither will people be saying, ‘See here!’ or, ‘There!’ For, look! the kingdom of God is in YOUR midst." luke 17;21
Yes the future king of Gods kingdom certainly was in the midst (or is among you)of those he was speaking too . but they didnt recognise him did they
(Jesus is addressing the Pharisees—vs. 20)
